The omnipresence of these two .gifs in the Stimhack Slack lately reminds me that this is a really entertaining game that people who read this blog should watch. It’s from day two, after the cut to top 8 at GenCon, and it features 2015 US National Champion Josh “josh01″ Wilson facing off versus two-time Worlds Champion Dan “nosleeves” D’Argenio. Josh is on a post-MWL2 Dumblefork Whizzard, while Dan is playing his version of Chris Hinkes’ 49-card IG. I played a lot of that IG deck over the past few months, and Dan does it masterfully here. I’ve also played against Josh’s Whizzard twice recently (Regionals and during Swiss at GenCon) and he pummeled me with it!
The video features two excellent players in a great game. But, also, it’s about watching a funny game between players who have very, very different styles at the table – see the .gifs above. Lots of psi games, and some funny stuff with Josh’s Employee Strike. Lots of table talk, too, so be sure to watch with the volume on. I think this video starts a few minutes into the game, but nothing of consequence was missed. Watch it!
