31, 36, 53, 55
dandypandy: shit it's that time again when I have to do two because I reblogged more than one lol but I actually really love doing these, so thank you for asking them. All the time. :)
From the list of questions that actually are not very weird:
31: Can you change the oil on a car?
No--we go to a place for that.
36: What is your usual bedtime?
I usually try to go for midnight.
except it generally doesn't happen: I'm either asleep by 8 or 9 if I'm really bored or tired, or asleep by 3 or 4 if I can't sleep or if I'm finishing homework.
53: Is Christmas stressful?
Well, not really. The people I get gifts for assume I don't get people gifts.
In general, I will try to get you something if you're in my social circle--the chances are more likely if you're from home, because I'm actually at home during the holidays and those are the people I aim to shop for mostly.
If you do get a gift, it was probably on sale or really cheap--I try to go for "I was thinking about you, but I'm also broke" which is parallel with the "it's the thought that counts" thing.
55: Favorite type of fruit pie?
My family is not a "pie" family, but if I had to pick, it would have to be Banana Jackfruit Pie, mostly because the closest thing we get to a pie is the fast-food kind. You can get this pie at your local Jollibee, which is a popular Filipino fast food place.
You know, as we're talking about pies and fast food places, let me tell you about my dad. My dad is awesome. First, he's not embarrassing. Second, he's generally chill and down-to-earth in a very quiet behind-the-scenes parent kind of way. I mention my dad because when the Jollibee in San Diego first opened, he drove us down ten miles to wait three hours to get drive-thru Filipino fast food when this place first opened.
Also, their pies are good. Spaghetti is bomb.
From this other question thing:
31. 3 (times 2) random facts (because I like talking)
There hasn't been a day that has passed since August 6th without me listening to Arctic Monkeys. More specifically, there hasn't been a day that's passed without me listening to something from their AM album.
Grammatically, the correct way to say it is "my listening to Arctic Monkeys" because the word "listening" is gerund, where it's used as a noun. I just didn't write it that way because it doesn't make sense to hear it said like that.
My room is almost the same shade as LSP from Adventure Time, but on accident: I wasn't thinking about this when it was being painted, I just picked a color.
Ezra Koenig and Andre Minor could be twins since they look so much alike, but I can't remember what Andre Minor actually looks like. I noticed they looked alike when I still remembered, but I now just assume he looks like Ezra Koenig.
In the fifth grade, I remember writing a Harry Potter fanfiction for one of those "use this word in a sentence" assignments. It sucks because I don't know where that (or anything I wrote before high school) went.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's professor inspired Sherlock Holmes.
36. 3 dreams you want to fulfill? I was thinking about my bucket list recently, actually, but also about the fact that I have some really fucking weird dreams sometimes and I generally decide on "dreams I want to fulfill" based on actual dreams.
Hang gliding with Prof Minor -- based on an actual dream I had where I was hang gliding with Prof Minor
Publishing my book -- which isn't based on a dream I had, but it would be cool to get this done since publication of the novel (probably through self-publishing) seems a lot likelier for me at this point than getting a job after college (since our job market sucks and I'm not that special)
Road trip along the California coast -- but not because I had a dream about taking a road trip with Prof Minor, but because I would like to do this without my parents around
53. 5 things that make me happy
Bastille's Pompeii on the radio because I will always think this song is amazing no matter how overplayed it is
Yes-or-no questions that are answerable with the phrase "Yes and no"
Gettin' Better by my favorite professor when I took him for MATH 20C and laughing at the possibility that he might be homeless
Mental conversations in my head with fictional characters who tell me to write about them or, more recently, trying to convince me to stop listening to Arctic Monkeys so I can write about te
Anna Sun by Walk the Moon because this song is probably every happy moment to have ever happened combined into one song by a band that needs to release more stuff and also the song's title is from a professor in Kenyon College
55. tumblr friends
brave-as-a-bear
libbybicnofnee
spiral-b0und
ameliamarieka
deranged-souls
you
Most of the time, my "tumblr friends" are people I've met personally, but that's not always totally the case. In general, people outside of tumblr don't know what mine is, not because I'm super elusive about anything.
Okay. Your turn!
