Mahiru's Parents HC
I just realized, in Mahiru's final FTE isn't it implied that Mahiru doesn't have much pictures of herself? Girl, your mom is a famous photographer!!! What do you mean she didn't take pictures of you?
My headcanons for Mahiru's parents are:
Mahiru's parents were both famous photographers. But while Mahiru's mom kept skyrocketing to fame, her dad fizzled out.
Mahiru's mom didn't want to have kids, but she felt pressured by society's expectations. She decided that since the dad wasn't getting any real jobs, he should stay home to watch their baby.
Mahiru's mom specialized in taking pictures of smiles in warzones, so she would go on frequent trips. She prioritized her job over her family every time.
The dad fell into depression and could hardly do chores. By the time Mahiru was a teenager, he couldn't bring himself to do anything but sulk. He relied on Mahiru to do all the cleaning and cooking.
To take care of her father, Mahiru would often have to skip her middle school photography club meetings. Because she missed so many meetings, she didn't realize her junior (Natsumi Kuzuryu) started to resent her
Mahiru idolized a fictional version of her mom while resenting the husk of her father.
Mahiru thrived to make people smile because her own mother never smiled at home.
Mahiru had an online blog so that her mom could see her photos no matter where she was.
(Despair) Mahiru realized that the mom wasn't checking her blog at all when she posted pictures of her dead father and her mother didn't say anything.
Later, when Mahiru finds her childhood album, she notices all the angles were terrible. She realizes that the few childhood photos she has of herself was by her terrible photographer father. And her mother, the famous photographer, never took a single photo of her.
I think that's it for now. I'm sure this will all help me with my CH2 redraw somehow...
