Why are people so weirded out by my posts? I'm being nice here! Are we thinking the same?
Actually all of us don't think the same, you do get my point? Right?

semi-annual komaeda and hinata analysis post yippie!! (kissing the post before i write it because idk if this is a brick or a bouquet)
(also keep in mind this is just my personal opinion and analysis. feel free to disagree and discuss in the notes, just don’t be mean about it)
i really like that they’ve both got interesting relationships with selfishness and selflessness.
hinata could never find worth in himself the way he was. the way society was made prevented him from doing so. but as kamukura, he became capable of realising what he lost. he would undo all of it in a heartbeat if he had the choice, but in no universe would hajime hinata have passed up on the opportunity to become izuru kamukura the way things were. it was a selfish decision made because he was unhappy (suicide metaphor), but everyone else (steering committee) framed it as selflessness. a sacrifice for the greater good. what else are you supposed to tell someone giving up their life, even if they didn’t know. and hinata knew that, even if he decided not to go through with it, they would find someone else. he probably couldn’t stand the idea that someone else would take that place in his absence. izuru kamukura was an inevitability.
komaeda… is a lot. very complicated. he does things that come off and selfless, and he justifies as selfless, for selfish reasons. he pushes other people away because he doesn’t want to hurt them and be hurt, and frames it as him being undeserving, as being selfless. he loves hinata and frames it as hope because he cannot conceive the idea of himself loving freely. and when he realises that this can’t be the case based on his pre-determined values, he punishes himself and hinata.
there’s obviously a lot more here but i’m tired goodnight sanfrandisco
