On that Tom Cruse post, Scientology is not a legally recognized religion in Germany. In fact it's classified as a cult. They recognize Scientology as the lying money thieving cult that it is, instead of allowing them to not pay taxes on the money they rob from people. I think we should praise them for denying the number two guy of a cult to be filmed in their country. America needs to have an attitude like this about that evil evil institution.
I'm going to have to think about this one. Scientology is, indeed, a lying money thieving cult. It is, indeed, an evil institution in my book. However, Tom Cruse if FAR from the number two man of Scientology -- he is merely the most famous of it's followers.
Germany views Scientology more as a dishonest business, and it isn't classified as a religion, true. It has not been found technically guilty of any criminal wrong-doing there, however. I'm also not convinced that prohibiting a movie from being filmed merely because Cruse is in it isn't going to do more harm than good.
