This preservable morsel is good
If we are talking about American citizens in particular, then the best way to maintain primacy of faith, in my opinion, would be to reinforce the values which the government is adhered to in writing at its establishment. More specifically, how all of those definitions, declarations, and decisions limit the powers of government in all respects where they may extend or be executed.
That fact of reality is empowering to know as a citizen, because it prevents one from confusing the government organization itself as an end and final attainment of life, or source of meaning and purpose. Knowing about the American government design would prevent someone from confusing the president as if the occupation was an emperor Christ god lord of the ancient world that Bible stories tell about. It is part of human nature to want that, I think, even if you know better and reject that desire (1 Samuel, 8).
The problem with confusing Americanism with religion is that I think what ends up happening is the national leader becomes confused as a religious concept. A religious concept of that sort also denotes Natural superpower, not only civil, secular, human, and worldly, and it is simply not true for a government or nation to possess that extent of Natural authority requisite for religious authority.
Knowing about that limiting aspect of national government in America would help Catholic Americans balance their faith and patriotism in a healthy way if considered contemplatively, in my opinion. I think if there is anything Christians are comfortable teaching no matter their knowledge level or denomination, it's how to be humble for someone else's benefit at the appropriate time when they have the power and authority to do so. Such occasions may be when a person is hurt, in need, or otherwise in want of what you can do for them, but not always times of suffering.
...
Consider it like this: the Christ is representative of man. the President is representative of a body politic. That is a cluster of thoughts in a man's head, not a man. Do you see the abomination of confusing that occupational authority as if it were religious or supernatural?
He has a purpose doesn't he? The government has a function and those people are all there to maintain it? It is in fact criminal for him to ignore that or even fight doing it. To be difficult about it in any way constitutes treason.
It's ridiculous, you know? Why would he not want to do his job after going through all that trouble to "run and be elected"?
...
Yes! All those politicians, Senators, President, Justices, etc. they are all dead things. Like undead mindless zombies with no awareness or life or spirit or concept of passion at all in their existence. It is the most offensive thing to see.
Really. They are all mindlessly deaf and stupid to pretend like they don't see the real life that is fought on the world stage, so they can maintain a private criminal conspiracy of their own secrecy and isolated selfish interests.
Those aren't people. Usually, a human being would be excited to challenge those problems in the Public Life. Those ones in the USA government are not human beings. Those are dead dud nothings with no sensory response, stimulus, awareness, anything. They are broke useless.
Why aren't they doing anything about it? Why do they pretend like it's not a real problem?
They have no fight, and that is also illegal for them. Fighting is part of their job. They are further criminals to steal from you like a job leech with no performance!
Cut those people off and fire them damn it! We don't have time for them!
