I had heard a lot about Cobra Kai and now that is on netflix and finally watched it - I was so pleasantly surprised!!! I especially enjoyed season 1 and how it was so much about this middle term, about the way Johnny trained - this adherence to the Cobra Kai rules, but wanting to change what they meant, and I LOVE how the show itself was written in a way that called out his bad behavior

Now the second season laid harder into the Cobra Kai is bad and Danny and Miyagi-do is good, I didn’t like it as much, I liked the idea that you can change something bad, to do better, to make up from your mistakes, and I honestly feel that’s where that finale teases s3. Also not a huge fan on how s2 pits women against each other even more and makes that central and you have the students become crueler and crueler...

I hope season 3 goes back more to the season 1 feeling, of centering more around Johnny (and his relationship with Miguel, and hopefully now Robby as well), but also how he fucks up, and the show calling him out, but also him trying to do better!!

Also really LOVE the episode in s2 with his friends - it was heartbreaking and beautiful, and it’s so interesting to see the Karate Kid movie through the eyes of Johnny and what he felt he was put through. Also I couldn’t stop thinking that Barney Stinson would love this show!!!
