Summary:
She knows being close to her isn’t easy, but Daniel effortlessly inches his way to her heart like it’s the easiest thing he’s ever done. It’s not, they both know it’s not but the way all the work doesn’t seem to bother him makes her heart pound in her chest.
“You don’t even know if he likes me.” Her voice wavers on every word.
“Baby, there’s nothing I’m more sure in life than Daniel’s feelings for you.” She’s not afraid to say she wishes Jonah knew how to lie so she could tell him he’s wrong. He doesn’t though, Jonah isn’t good at lying when he’s forced to, like in interviews, and he’s simply unable to lie to her even if he wanted to.
“And, still, it only takes a little bit of alcohol for you to get in my bed.” She tries to joke through the lump in her throat.
“I guess it makes me the bad friend.” Jonah almost winces, like he just thought about how wrong all of it was.
So I may or may not be writing a fanfiction based on this dream I had about Daniel, who would be interested? It’s not really smut, just some hardcore making out at the end. It could potentially be multi-chaptered, if you guys like it. Anyway, hit up my asks and tell me if you want me to actually post it since it’s almost done. Also I’ll need a beta, so if you wanna do that feel free to message me or something.
Summary: The one where Daniel is finding it hard to speak out his feelings making her question if its really worth it.
She knew him best, from seeing him at his worst to seeing him at his best. She knew what broke him, but she never judged. He watched as time and time again she was there waiting for him with open arms and that right there was the scariest feeling. She watched him be hurt and bruising, watched as he build halls as high as the eyes can see. Yet laying here and starring up at the ceiling makes her wonder if all of this was worth it.
She looked down at their hands, watching as almost every line seemed to align. so perfectly. The feeling of secureness taken over them both as the silence seemed to swallow them. Closing his eyes he wondered if this was a sign, a sign that he shouldn’t be scared that he should be willing to give her is all instead of small pieces of himself.
“I’ve those words before so many times.” he breathed out not having the courage to look her in the eyes. “You deserve to hear those words a thousand times overs.” he mumbled softly as she looked at him.
“It’s okay.” she mumbled out not knowing what else she could say. She had told her help a million times over that it was just three words, eight letters. She couldn’t understand why it was so hard for him, why he couldn’t just say it. Yet the linger thought loomed, what if he didn’t love her.
“It’s not fair that I pull you close only to ask you for space.” he breathed out finally turning over to look at her to find her attention fixed on t he. white ceiling. He watched as she closed her eyes, lips slightly parted. “I just, I want you to know its not that I don’t.”
“Daniel it’s okay.” she breathed out opening her eyes to finally meet his. The sadness seeping through him. “You don’t have to say anything.”
“But I do, I can see it in your eyes.” he mumbled his mind going wild at the though of her potently leaving him. “I just want you to know that when I close my eyes it’s you I see.” he stated watching as a soft smile worked ways onto her lips.
ou lazily pushed the covers away from your body, shoving your feet to the ground. The room was dark and you reached for the LED remote. A purple hue painted the corners of your bedroom which enabled you to reach around for your discarded hoodie. You could just put on pants, but hoodies were much more comfortable and covered up everything.
You went to the bathroom first: tensing at creaking floorboards, avoiding turning on any extra lights. Most of the guys left on random lights, like the LED signs in the living room, the bulb above the kitchen sink. You closed the bathroom door and it freaked- you cringed before flipping on the light.
You went to the kitchen next. You simply just couldn’t sleep. You were tossing and turning in bed, making your back hurt and your brain burn. You decided to just go get a glass of warm water to help your blood flow instead of making yourself more frustrated.
Luckily, the cabinet doors didn’t make too much noise as you retrieved a glass. The sink was much too noisy. You quickly tiptoed to the island, hopping up onto the counter. You had brought your phone and took it from your hoodie pocket. Hunched over, you quietly watched TikTok, sipping at your water through an orange straw.
You tensed up when you heard the floorboards near the bathroom creak. You twisted around, squinting in the dim light to see a tall, slim figured walking down the hallway towards you. Daniel’s complexion shone under the pale kitchen bulb, lifting a weight off your chest.
He cracked a tired smile and came to lean on the sink in front of you. “What’re you doing up?”
“Couldn’t sleep,” you hugged your body, bare legs suddenly covered in goosebumps from nerves.
His eyes raked down your figure, rolling back up to meet your own. “You okay?”
You shrugged. “Ion know. Just not tired I guess.”
“Sorry to hear that.”
“You?” You shut your phone off to give him all of your attention.
Daniel motioned to the studio. “Just working on stuff.”
“This late?” You giggled slightly. It was 2:00 AM now.
“Yeah, just anticipating putting together the album,” he replied.
“I get it. But, it’ll be good no matter what. You’re like a little music fairy, Dani.”
His cheeks seemed to blush red. You squinted to see if this was true, but he shied away from your gaze and moved around to get a glass of water.
“You’re strange,” he cleared his throat.
“You’re strange.”
“We’re perfect for each other,” he turned to face you again, catching your eyes. He was being sarcastic, right?
You shrugged again, eyes flickering around the floor. “Duh.”
Daniel sat at the stool directly next to your legs. You tugged the hoodie down. His arms radiated heat against your bare skin, tightening a knot in your threat. He seemed tense, showed it by the way he drank his water.
His eyes stared into the dark living room before you both tried to speak. “Oh, go ahead,” you insisted.
“I was just gonna ask if you were gonna try to go to bed?” He finally met your eyes again.
This angle was sweet. You, above him, so close, able to see the white flecks in his eyes, your breath meeting.
“I was gonna ask the same,” you grinned. “See, we’re perfect.”
Your breaths hitched at the slightest change in either’s eyes. “Well,” he cleared his throat, “I’m not.”
“Me neither.”
“Do you,” he paused, “wanna watch a movie or something?”
“Yeah, we can do that,” you went to hop off the counter at the same time that he stood up. As a result, your knee jabbed into his stomach, and the montentun nearly threw you off the counter. Daniel groaned, but acted fast, grabbing at your thighs to ensure you stayed upright.
You reached for his shoulders to stabilize yourself. Daniel ended up between your legs, gripping onto your warm skin, making your thighs hot with his palms.
You felt the hairs at the edge of his neck, the soft skin beneath his ears, the hem of his tshirt. Your eyes went wide, mirroring his expression. You were out of breath, nearly chest to chest with this boy.
Neither of you went to movie. Neither of you wanted to move. Instead, in a moment quicker than the blink of eye, you were chest to chest, and, ironic enough, lip to lip. Pulling and tugging and kissing and pushing.
Daniel engulfed your body with his hands, skin crawling with affection. Your fingers moved around his head, cradling his face in your hands. You needed air, so you carefully pulled back, Daniel arching forward on his tiptoes to try and grab your lips back.
You giggled, wrapping your arms around his neck. He cradled your hips, fingers pressing into your skin as if he could soak your affection up.
“I have been wanting to do that-“
“...for forever,” you grinned uncontrollably.
Daniel sighed, “Yeah.”
“Let’s go watch that movie.”
Daniel grabbed your hands, tugging you from the counter. He pulled you along behind him, spinning around out of nowhere and pressing you against the wall next to the bathroom. He kissed you again and again, murmuring giggled and shushes of silence.
By the time you reached his room, you heard Jonah peak out of his bedroom, but slipped inside Daniel’s before he could spit you two. Jonah’s door closed, as did Daniels.
