A few statements I would like to make on the proposed Kingdom Come: Deliverance live-action film…
1. This is a personal (ego) pursuit of Daniel Vávra and is not in the best interests of game development.
2. Game development at Warhorse Studios will suffer with the loss of Vávra, the diverting of funds to support the film production, and will act as a general distraction.
3. Adapting the concept of KCD to a film medium will prove extremely difficult, and/or this concept will be simplified and diluted to meet the “tastes” of movie audiences (the masses).
4. A KCD film or series will not significantly increase game audiences as the game experience remains niche and challenging even for experienced gamers.
5. Otherwise, I am eager to see what new creative directors, Prokop Jirsa and Viktor Bocan will bring to the table. I feel cautiously optimistic towards Jirsa as his quest design were/are exceptional and he seems like an intelligent and thoughtful person which is in stark contrast to Vávra. This could indicate a greater focus on Hansry in the next KCD instalment.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. 💗
