“Oh, uh... hi.” Daniel had a wide grin on his face when Lucien walked into his bedroom. Daniel was on the bed naked from the waist down. He was wearing his work shirt with one of his hands handcuffed to the bed. His dick in particular was something to note since in its semi-hardened state Daniel had slipped a bow loosely over it. Lucien had suggested this months ago for his birthday. Daniel had made a mental note at the time to try and do something special, even if it was a little ridiculous, to show just how much he loved Lucien. His spare set of handcuffs were on the bed frame just like the set that had one of his wrists in it already. That one still needed the wrist he had free. Lucien would simply have to finish binding him if he wanted to. “I thought I could do something special for your birthday?” There was a pause before Daniel spoke again. “So... what do you think?”

With another case solved, Daniel thought it best to celebrate with his partner. Lucien had undoubtedly gotten him the promotion he’d wanted within the department. Now, he was a detective. It would have likely happened over time, Although their work together had helped his career immensely in the past couple of months. Being able to commune with the dead and ask them things was a tool he’d come to favor. And it was all with Lucien that he was able to do such things. The man was incredible. Immortal and incredible. But Daniel hadn’t expected to be so attracted to the other man. It seemed as though Lucien found him at least a little attractive too, given that they’d hooked up a couple of times. But instead of discussing what that meant, Daniel put that conversation on the back burners. 

Although now the men were sitting in his living room, enjoying a few beers and watching some stupid movie. He hadn’t been thinking about them until now. Sitting on the couch with Lucien now, the two didn’t keep much distance between them. It was likely on Daniel’s part, although he didn’t think to mention it. His leg was pressed against Lucien’s, their knees nudging the other’s if there was a particularly funny part. But when they were about thirty minutes in, there seemed to be a slower spot with more dialogue that Daniel didn’t care for. It was what led him to think about his relationship with the man sitting beside him. Not minding speaking over the actors on the screen, he turned to Lucien. “I’ve been meaning to ask you... Have you thought much about us lately?” 

Daniel paused figuring that question could be a little vague. “Outside of working together. Like the sex part.” As he finished speaking, he brought his beer to his lips to drink some of it.
