Atiku Abubakar responds to Bwala's comments, asserting he doesn't need validation from political opportunists.
I intend to join the APC, said Bwala, the former spokesman for Atiku
Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson for the People's Democratic Party's presidential candidate, has revealed his plans to defect, claiming he will soon join the ruling All Progressive Congress, or APC. Shortly after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday, he made the announcement. Verifying the action, he stated, “Yes, the last time I was here, I was still in the PDP. I have officially left the PDP, and I’m making plans to join the APC. And the intention is, just like somebody who is planning his wedding, you don’t just wake up one morning and go to church. You have to do a committee of friends, you have to notify relatives and well-wishers so that they will be there to grace the occasion. So yes, I’m on my way to APC and that is where I have always belonged. “Remember, we’ve been in APC for eight years and I am sure that my efforts in APC and my support since you are in the media, you all know right from the days of President Buhari for eight years. I left because of differences but I’m back and I think at this time the party is about us coming together as a country to make sure that the country not only survives but that it is on a good trajectory. When that time for politics comes those who are there will do. But I’m fully committed to President Bola Tinubu and in the coming days I will do my official re-entry to APC”. Read the full article
Bwala, Atiku's former assistant, slams Peter Obi on Twitter
Daniel Bwala, a former spokesman for the Atiku-Okowa 2023 presidential campaign, has dubbed Peter Obi, the former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, as Twitter president. According to Bwala, Obi enjoys grandstanding, as well as applauding and reprobating. He was responding to Obi's reaction to Nigeria's senior men's basketball team, the D'Tigers, withdrawing from the International Basketball Federation's (FIBA) Afrobasket 2025 Qualifiers owing to a lack of funding. Obi had posted on X: “I read, with dismay, the reports of the withdrawal of Nigeria’s senior men’s national basketball team, D’Tigers, from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Afrobasket 2025 Qualifiers due to lack of funds.” But, Bwala in a post reminded Obi of an old post where he said “We must stop this unproductive habit of throwing scarce and borrowed money at immediate problem….. ” Posting on X, Bwala wrote: “You just like to approbate and reprobate Pitobi. Didn’t you say the below? Nothing Dey sweet you like grandstanding. Twitter President.” Read the full article
