The three different types of thunking- Romantic, platonic, and Sammy’s odd habit of launching their head at the speed of several miles an hour towards someone- Headcanon footnote: Gentle head butting is a general form of affection, though couples usually nuzzle, back then Carl was pretty anxious about that because of his angular and sharp-edged head that sometimes left faint scratches on Danielle’s surface lmao, though it faded eventually.

Backstory time! Carl and Halt were both originally known as Wilson and Halter, their full names being Wilson N Wireworks, and Halter W Wireworks. They were both born into a wealthy family that ran a company that derived most of its money from the mining and electronics business. However, neither were very satisfied with the lifestyle settled out for them. So at the age of 16, along with Lilac Lighthouse (later to be known as Danielle Dazzle), a maiden introduced to Carl from a powerful noble family, they fled away from their families, taking with them their belongings and clothes, yet not a single penny, and leaving behind all traces of their wealth and bloodline, along with the protestant shouts and yells of their fathers and mothers. They came to the Inkwell Isles, a distant far off place that the Wireworks had only once visited on a business meeting and vacation. All 3 changed their names, though a funny detail that to this day Halt does not let go, Carl had chosen his name both first and last out of a panic after glancing at a car and the people crossing over the sidewalks. Carl met Sammy once again while climbing the ranks as a member of the law, and the rest is history.
