I know that I repost my Harry Potter work a lot, but lately I’ve really taken a closer look at my past work and decided to paint over my mistakes. My goal now is to achieve realism with my portrait paintings. I didn’t realize before just how bad my understanding of color was. I would use an already pre-made flesh tone color straight out of the tube and maybe mix it with titanium white or burnt sienna. Now I know to only use five colors to create my flesh tones and work gradually. Last night I studied what it means to incorporate tones and values into my portraits.
