My boykitty had bladder crystals too and wound up having a PU done to open up his urethra for it -- the UR food is expensive but it does work! You just have to make sure to keep an eye on how much you give Indy because cats can gain weight really quick on it. My dude got super soft though after being on it for a few months. Glad to hear Indy's gonna be okay <3
Yeh he LOVES the new food, I can see how some cats might get fat on it lmao. He’s already a big guy and his portions are already controlled so he shouldn’t gain too much weight in the future, hopefully lol.
I suspect a big part of why all this happened is because my mom feeds him cat treats all the goddamn time, like those crappy ones in the bag. I don’t mean one treat a day either I mean like piles of 4-6 at a time.. I tell her DO NOT all the time but Indy is very cute and she is very weak. She says she doesn’t do it anymore but I think she just got sneakier about it lol.. anyway, after I explained the severity of his situation to her I’m confident she won’t give him treats anymore. No treats + new diet hopefully means this is the last time we have to bring him to a vet for this particular problem. :[
