A word about Nicko McBrain. As most of you know, Johnny Dee and I were blessed with having been able to tour as the opening act for Iron Maiden in the US, Canada and a little of Eastern Europe. They treated us wonderfully and were, each of them, real gents to spend time with. So it should be of no surprise that everyone loves Nicko. He was very open, easy to get on with and generous with is time. And always a good larf! What I remember most, though, took place after I had left Waysted and went to see Maiden play in New Jersey with my new drummer, Michael Clayton Arbeeny, in tow. As always, everyone was welcoming to us but Nicko was one of those guys that loved to talk drums. I think all drummers do. And seeing him and Mike spending time together and Nicko showing Mike some of his new kit for that tour really made me love the guy. Nicko, you are one of a kind, loved the world over and from this old friend I want to wish you good health, happiness and lots of scratch golf games.
