Hosuh: Excuse me, why am I considered the responsible one?

Stephen: Dan once stuck his hand in a toaster that was still on because he wanted his toast that second.

Daniel: Stephen once ate ice cream with a knife because he didn’t want to acknowledge it was his turn to do the dishes.

Annabelle: I almost crashed the car because I saw a dog on the sidewalk.

Hosuh: I’ll never question it again.

Hosuh: Did you have to stab Dan?

Stephen: You weren’t there! He provoked me!

Hosuh: How?

Stephen: He said, “What are you going to do? Stab me?”

Ann: I agree with Stephen. That was practically an invitation

Out of Context Escapism Scenes (Inspired by Steven Universe dialogue I’ve heard!!)

1. “Everything’s fine.” Stephen grits out, setting a card down carefully onto the beat up coffee table.

“I know it’s not!” Hosuh insists, tugging lightly at his hair. “I know you just don’t want me to be scared, but just tell me the truth.”

“Jay is coming,” Annabelle says, setting her cards down. “And we don’t know who or what he’ll be coming with. He’s been living out here longer than all of us, and has had more time to adapt and gather whatever he wants, stuff that’s bound to overpower us. The truth is, Hosuh, we’re scared.”

2. “We’re bad at this.” Stephen says, kicking at the ground with his foot, not making eye contact with the others.

“What?” Annabelle gasped.

“Yeah, you can’t help him, and he shouldn’t be taking advice from me, and we don’t have Dan to tell us what to do!” Stephen’s voice raises with every word, and an infected starts banging at the closed door of the hospital room they had closed themselves into.
