John Mogensen (May 5, 1928 - 1977) was a Danish singer-songwriter in a style reminiscent of outlaw country and protest songs. He was one of the most popular touring artists of the 1970s in Denmark, but suffered from stage-fright and medicated himself excessively with alcohol to keep going. He died from a heart attack exacerbated by stress and alcoholism at the height of his career. One of his self-penned songs, “Så længe jeg lever”, was included in the Danish Cultural Canon.
