Age Old Vampire & Queen of Joy || Shea & Dante (closed)
"Born of cold and winter air and mountain rain combining. This icy force both foul and fair has a frozen heart worth mining," Shea sang as she skipped along on the frosty sidewalk. A freak snowstorm had come through Oxford, which meant Shea had spent every minute of daylight yesterday playing in the snow. But when night had fallen, she'd taken to inside her cozy living room with hot chocolate and had watched Frozen on repeat until the wee hours of the morning.
"So cut through the heart, cold and clear. Strike for love and strike for fear. See the beauty, sharp and sheer split the ice apart and break the frozen heart!" she finished off the opening song of her favorite movie, just as she turned a corner in town and onto a patch of ice, sending her slipping and sliding down the sidewalk. She'd seen it coming: her ass hitting the pavement, that is. She'd be sprawled out on the sidewalk and laughing at herself until someone came and picked her up.
Only, that didn't happen. Just as she had been about to hit the ground, someone reached out and grabbed her hand, and then her waist, steadying her. Big arms. Man arms. Muscular man arms. Shea giggled a little at herself before looking up to the blonde man who'd saved her from being a complete failure at walking. "Holy hell," she blurted out before she could stop herself. He was like a walking Adonis. "Are you real??" she asked him, blinking a few times before her hands touched his arms that held her. Yep, he was real. Giggling again at herself,
She stepped in and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly, "Thank you, glorious stranger, for keeping me from making a complete fool out of myself! And, from hurting my spectacular rear end."
