I usually like to start the week off on a colorful note, but I decided to switch it up a bit; while the #printmixing issue of #DappledLittleThings still remains the most popular issue (not to worry, I'm currently working on another layout of #mixingprints, as well as one on color), I thought I'd delve a little further into prints and ways that I've combined them, giving you styling tips that I like to utilize. . In today's post, a lot is going on, but I'll start with the prints: #floral + #herringbone. Why it works? The same colors (black and grey) are repeated in both pieces. . What I love about the outfit is the juxtaposition of the ultra-feminine piece (corset) and the traditionally masculine piece (oversized-woolen #blazer); additionally a ubiquitous feminine print (floral) is contrasted with a usually masculine herringbone pattern, allowing for a look which is doubly distinct, yet uniquely unified. . Blazers are a fun way to take your jeans from 5-to-9 and bring them into your 9-to-5! Add a chic blazer to your casual Friday look, to keep it your semi-professional ensemble from being too relaxed. . Trend Alert! #flosssandals are huge for Spring/Summer 2019. The barely-there-footwear has such an alluring appeal, and can be worn with everything from jeans to your favorite slip skirt! . Back to my first post of the year, I chose the clutch in #livingcoral to add a pop of color to my outfit. Every year, I try to find a purse in the #pantone #coloroftheyear so that when I am wearing an otherwise colorless ensemble, the bag is still an on trend addition. .
