No Gods, No Kings
Said the Pearl Nightingale

Małgorzata, or Gosia, has a very strict moral code: "No Gods, No Kings." Now one might believe in a realm with indisputably proven Gods and their cults of worshippers, there would be no Atheists. Maybe Agonostics but, Gosia, atheistic, believes there are no gods. "If they can be killed, they are mortal and no better than I. If they haven't died, they are immortal, they are long lived, but THEY ARE NOT GODS."
This dialogue is part of a longer speech she gave to rally against the royal family, of whom claim descendance from a Goddess. Taleb listened, and logically disagreed. He had meet the Queen many times; She wasn't a descendant. She was a Goddess. But he couldn't be picky about which anti-monarchy revolutionary he sided with. The Queen wanted his family dead on account of treason (that was only considered after the accusation) and regicide (The Prince is dead).
Małgorzata the Nightingale carried on Darc's legacy of the people, although Taleb doubted the extent of her knowledge of the events half a century ago. But Gosia and her movement would need support, and The Coffill Family needed a conviction.
Taleb and his family would have to shun both sides of their bloodline. No Gods, No Kings. His eyes begun to itch at the thought, he was no God. He was no Prince. He was Mortal, and that was were the movement found power.
