45. What is your all time favourite fanfic? I’m guessing this means “that I wrote.” It’s impossible to pick. Really it is. I could tell you what I did (and didn’t) like about each one. I wouldn’t list each one, but I’ll give you a run down of some greatest hits, perhaps. Buckle up, you know that my chattering self can’t give a short answer. LOL
I would say that “Broken Mirrors” has the most “me” in it. There’s a lot of me and my life reflected there, so it’s certainly got a special place for me. It’s Caryl/Mandrea. I would say that “What Future Is There?” is very special to me (Dixonne/Cyreese) because it was my first fanfic. In addition, it’s the fanfic that actually got me to love Carol Peletier, so it’s got a special place in my heart for that reason. I love the fic, but I do think the second part to that saga (”Long Way ‘Round”) is better. The third part to the saga, “As Dawn Follows Dusk,” is also a fun little thing for me because it sees our characters as much older and focuses primarily on their children taking off as adults that will run the world their parents created for them.“All the King’s Horses” was one of the most fun fics that I wrote. I had so much fun with little Russ and Sophia.
“Between the Two of Us” is, by far, my favorite Michandrea (and I love the Caryl in that one, too, honestly) fic that I’ve ever done. The Caryl in that one is super cute, too.
I love “Keep Me Warm” because I’m obsessed with Westerns and I really, really wanted to do that genre.
I love the feeling of “Sweet Junction,” and I hope to get back to that world with “Grass Roots” again, soon.
“Roots and Wings” is my favorite Janeway/Chakotay fic and, personally, I love the feeling of it. I think it’s one of my sweetest/most romantic stories in general.I also love “Region Thirty Three” for the deeper layers to that story. The planning and background info that I’ve put into that one has really been quite a bit of work. I like it because it’s pretty dramatically different for me.
