it's been an amazing 12 years with her by my side but now it's time to say goodbye. i hope i loved her hard enough. i've never doubted for a minute how hard she loved me. she is the silliest goose and the prissiest madame and the best girl of all.

at home darcydog sleeps in the bed with me, as we well know.

at my parents house, she is generally allowed to cuddle with them until bedtime, at which time she is told to go get into her own bed. she will do this - she doesn’t like to, and she’ll steal anyone’s spot if they get up in the night in an instant, but she will do this.

on my phone call tonight with my mum she told me that dad, who professes not to like miss darcydog because she is loud (she is), has been sleeping in the guest room since i left on saturday because he couldn’t bear to kick her out of their bed and make her sleep on the floor in the wintertime. so she sleeps with my mom in their bed, and he is. in the guest room. by himself. except tonight he just texted me to gloat that she is in bed with him instead. using a spongebob happy dance gif.

idk what it is about her that makes people absolutely lose their minds but it’s nice to know that the feeling is universal

you can buy these cards as part of a pack of postcards in a fundraiser hosted by several lovely souls in the ofmd fandom, benefitting THE YOUNG CENTER which is a badass org providing boots on the ground support to kids in the US facing deportation or navigating parental deportation or even attempting safe repatriation

these folks provide legal advocates for court proceedings, support for the stakeholders and social networks that help these kids establish lives here in the states, litigate against The Ghouls for broad immigration rights, and make sure these kids aren't forgotten or lost in the system.
