Me learning to appreciate grids. I've never been much of a grid guy, but you know what? Grids can be good sometimes.
My initial design for Matt was very much based on Charlie Cox, but I didn't want to seem like I was doing fanart for the tv show specifically (which I haven't seen except in short clips on youtube). It's interesting there is a lot of variety in how different artists draw him, so I did feel I had some freedom to make a new version. Please notice the silly little devil horns that I lovingly incorporate into his hair.
I also want to thank the city of New York for writing the biblical references for me when it came to the name of the hospital.
so a little while ago I developed this weird interest in Daredevil (I haven't watched the show, and only read a few comics)
I think i was interested in the comicscraft possibilities related to Matt Murdock's unique way of experiencing the world. Like, great artists have done some clever stuff, but I think it could be weirder. i want to make it weirder.
The character also became infinitely more interesting to me when I realised his 'powers' actually had limitations, which led me to writing a little story about it.
So I have been working on a weird comic - it's a project I'll probably chip away at over time, but it has been good practice :) I'll be tagging it #DaredevilDoR for future reference

I made a free patreon post to share my sketches and colour roughs for the DoR pages, if anyone's curious!
