Mixing Business and Pleasure Can Mean Only One Thing: Success
Starting your own business can seem like a far-off thought of danger, expenses and a lot of work. Businesses are no piece of cake- that is for sure. Jorge Hernandez shows us that the hardships of business are nothing to hold us back from creating the dream job for ourselves. If he can do it, then so can you!
Hernandez started Darelicious, an online dare (not DATE!) site aimed to offer people a place to play while raising money for a cause of their choice.
The idea was born out of a situation in which Hernandez was playing a game of dare with his friends. If people were willing to dare each other to do fun things for free, why wouldn’t they do it in support of a great cause? This was the merging of fun and functional for Hernandez, and a successful idea was born.
Even with such an innovative idea, how was Hernandez to create the baby, the creation in his head? It turned out to be quite simple: “create an emotional attachment, and you will be successful.” Perhaps one of the main reasons why businesses don’t work these days is that the vision itself is about the money and not the human connection. In a world of clutter and chaos, people need to be able to connect to something, to realize the importance in what they are taking part in.
“At the end of the day, you have to be tenacious.”
