Honestly, Marcy, i like you. Always have. I begged the core to consider an alternative host, but- Alas.

So. I think Andrias is lying here.

Don't get me wrong, i love villains who are not completely monsters, who have some sympathy for others in them. And i would loved an Andrias-who cares-about-Marcy...

But. The expressions, the tone, the stuff he did in true colours ep.. all of this contradicts his words. This feels more like an excuse or another attempt to manipulate/gaslight Marcy.

But there is also this moment:

He doesn't like seeing Marcy getting possessed.

If he doesn't care about Marcy, then why?

Maybe it's just non-enjoyment of seeing people (kids?) getting tortured?

Well, he sure had no problem with impailing Marcy with a giant flaming sword, and blowing up a tower just to show off, and "terminating" villagers, and...

Yeah, this dude doesn't seem to mind stuff like this.

So let's consider another quote if his (and Olivia's).

Besides, she is the only one who could beat him at Flipwart.

And he wanted the best, the smartest! The only one who could beat me at Flipwart.

Not considering the fact whether Marcy genuinely beat Andrias or he just let her, those quotes imply that Andrias was "the best of the best, the smartest" before Marcy came into the picture. Would he then be considered a host, if Marcy wasn't there?

If this is true, then this face:

...is the face of someone who could have been in Marcy's place.

Willow and Amity's relationship rewrite: I Was A Teenage Abomination

In Understanding Willow there is a reveal that Amity was forced by her parents to stop being friends with Willow and later influenced by her new friends to bully her. This contradicts a bit with Amity's first appearance in I was a Teenage Abomination where she bullies Willow; they are completely alone in the woods, she is doing it completely willingly and seems to enjoy it.

The actual reason behind this is probably because at the time of making this episode, the writers haven't came up with the idea of Amity and Willow being childhood friends yet.

The in universe explanation could be that over the years Amity convinced herself that Willow actually deserves to be bullied (sort as a self-defence mechanism?). Or she is trying to bully Willow out of the Abomination track. I actually wouldn't mind that seeing either of that explored and called out to an extent. But, sadly, after Wing It Like Witches the show completely forgot about developing and exploring their dynamic.

So for my angsty Amillow (platonic and not) needs I'm going to rewrite this mess!

Episode rewrite rant/ideas:

The first time we (and Luz) see Amity is in a group with Boscha and other mean girls. The girls make of Willow for having low talent in Abomination magic pretty much like Amity did in the og. They compare her to Amity - the top of the class. The whole scene Amity seems disinterested in the whole process of bullying, probably studying and/or practicing her magic (to distance herself from the situation), safe for the parts where she revels in praise. Maybe, when prompted by the other girls, throws in some half-hearted insults. The purpose of this scene is the same - introduce Amity, the fact she is a top student and takes great pride in that and the fact that Willow is bullied for being bad at magic. To the "first time viewer" (and Luz) this could still paint Amity as a cold Queen Bee who let's minions to the dirty work.

Some of the Amity's "insults" could in some way imply that Willow should change her track (partly because she is still scared that her parents might expell Willow). I imagine, Willow had an interest in plants even before getting her powers, so Amity would probably think that Plant track would be more suitable for Willow.

After the group leaves, Willow gets angry (the power of her anger is double explained by the fact that she was bullied and her ex best friend just stood there and watched, maybe even encouraged it in Willow's mind).

Maybe Willow had an idea of going to the Abomination course not only because of "better opportunities", but maybe it was originally an attempt to get close to Amity again or to prove that she is not powerless.

Willow: "Please, don't tell me you saw happened earlier-" Luz: "Actually i did! Who do they think they are to treat you like this?!" Willow: "*groans* Amity Blight and her friends - the best witches in the whole school." (Insert headcanon that the rest of the mean girl group are also best students of their respective tracks)

Maybe Luz even confuses Boscha for Amity, since Boscha seems like the meanest girl, yet Willow always focuses on Amity when she complains about the bullying. This would be a false clue that Amity is the main bully here even if she doesn't show it. In reality, her anger stems from their shared history.

I imagine, if Amity found out that Willow was actually good at magic, she would probably with a mix of hope that their friendship could be restored and frustration because all those years where she had to push away her only friend were actually for nothing.

But since Amity saw Willow's bad attempt at Abomination earlier this morning, she quickly turns suspicious. Since she had to work hard to become a top student, she hates cheaters and she hates the idea of Willow being a cheater.

When her top student badge gets snatched off from her, Amity's reaction is similar to the canon one. Her whole self-worth is tied that badge, plus, as we already established her friend group, this could threaten her authority in the group. I imagine she gets a tunnel vision from this point on - she is focused on the badge only, nothing else matters.

(More related to the Lumity stuff but) I don't think it a good idea to have Amity gleefully watching as Luz nearly gets dissected. Since she thought that "the abomination" was alive. It would be better if there was a more explicit hint that it's just her and Bump's plan to get a confession out of Willow or Luz.

Centaurworld S2E3 notes

Loved this episode!! The focus was more or less on Glendale and Wammawink, though Wammawink's parts felt more like a build up to the future eps, but her realising that Glendale has grown and matured is nice!

Stabby is quickly becoming my favorite character

He reminds me of Wrong Hordak from She-ra? Both accidentally get sepatated from their armies and get stuck with the main characters and slowly unlearn the propaganda that was fed to them from birth.

Stabby has a little room with posters inside Glendale's portal-tummy🥺

Glendale is Stabby's mom/aunt. I have spoken.

Also, some groups (coldtaurs) in centaurworld siding with The Nowhere King (probably bc he seems like "winning" side) is pretty realistic! I imagine, him being this legendary boogeyman-like figure in centaurworld would also play into that. Maybe some groups even worshipped him at somepoint?

I'm not really sure how coldtaurs being scared of Nowhere King led them to the conclusion that they are gonna side with him bc they are cold? Are they, uh, making up excuses?

Wammawink often leaves Glendale behind? She is also weirdly disconcerned about Glendale being, y'know, in the arms reach of murderous coldtaurs

And her little rant about Glendale... Like, yes, Glendale's behaviour is unhealthy, but its not the time to complain about it

Silly thought, but... Is Durpleton's parenting of Stabby meant to parallel Wammawink's parenting of Glendale? With Durpleton immediatly discoraging and punishing the bad behaviour in contrast to Wammawink who lets Glandale steal stuff (which apparently became a problem only now🙄)

And when interacting with Glendare fave to face Wammawink is back in her worried mom role, hmmm

Also, Durpleton, you left your son behind too

Wammawink also almost forgot Horse, hmmm... is all this stuff about Wammawink from this ep and the previous one building up to something or yes?

Also Wammawink being anxious about whether Horse cares about her or not...

Glendale becoming friends with the little birdtaur dude and his kids ghfhjvr

Glendale befriending the whole coldtaur group!! And teaching them how to cope with anxiety!! My girl's smartie and loveable af🥰

This is a pretty interesting scene and, yes, it can be interpreted as Andrias being worried for Marcy, especially after hearing his speech in the end of the ep.

But Andrias still doesn't tell the whole truth to Marcy.

"I begged the Core to consider an alternative host"

and "Maybe we should try it on someone else first"

Have pretty different implications.

In the first quote he doesn't imply that Marcy would still be a host after the test with the "alternative one".

In the second one Marcy would still be the intended host, they just do a test run on someone else, probably so the suit or connection wouldn't malfunction during the plan.

Also the wording "alternative host" vs "someone else"

The first can imply that they had at least another candidate for possession. The second one implies that they don't, they just need whoever as the guinea pig.

Maybe Andrias was worried about Marcy in that scene or maybe about his plan, i guess we'll see in future eps.

(Edit: I won't deny that I am probably grasping straws and overcomplicating everything ^^;; I'm just trying to reason Andrias's behaviour in my head, he is a pretty interesting character after all! And the show is nor over, so my interpretation of him can change after the new eps come out!

Also, if whoever reads this, if you interpreted this episode as proof that Andrias cares for Marcy in some way, that's great! I am not saying that you are wrong and I won't discourage you from interpreting it like that!)

On an unrelated note: the "we should try it on someone else first" conversation can possibly foreshadow some malfunction in the costume or the possession process that maybe can help Marcy break away from the control. That's my additional mini-theory.

Centaurworld S2E4 notes

Oh boy oh boy, what an ep! I loved the stabby&durpleton subplot and horse's insecurities being explored! The moletaur&co recruitment subplot was okay, but not that kind of fun.

Undergroundtaurs & Worldbuilding

So. Did moletaurs (and other underground taurs) just always could get from one world to the other? How does that work?? Is it because of the opened portal?

(Tbh Comfortable Doug could somehow dig through an ice plate that floated on the water. So i guess he can teleport or something?)

Headcanon: Comfortable Doug is actually just really good at magic and thats why he can do all the stuff he does and he will probably be the next moletaur shaman

You know why Horse is not good for recruitment? Because she doesn't understand centaurs' logic and culture. She tries to go about this as if you would in real world, but this the centaurworld, world of wacky magic taurs who work by the rules of cartoons and musicals! That's why Zulius, Glendale and Wammawink are better at this job, bc they live by this world's rules and understand other centaurs better than Horse ever can.

It still kinda flies over my head why no one cares about the war? They are not invincible or something, look at Wammawink's village

Horse

I love how exited Horse gets every time she finds out that insert character/group can do insert wacky thing. "We can use this to our strategic advantage!!"

So. Horse found out about Becky Apples and the feelings of betrayal and insecurity kicked in (and mixed with her growing doubts about her usefulness and whether it was necessary for her leave Rider... oof, she goes off the rails)

Also i think her emotional episode counts as one of the reason she's probably not that suitable for the job of recruiting an army.

Also haven't she already had a realisation that Zulius and Glendale are better for the job previous ep? She could have still tried to recruit people, but a little comment like "i don't need help, i know what i am doing" or something to show the continuity of her conflict about that

And the song where she and Wammawink sing directly admits that Horse doesn't know Becky Apples and has no actual reason to hate her (just like Wammawink with Jeffrica(?)). That's good. The song and the comment.

Though they do not say or imply that there is no actual evidence that Rider "betrayed" Horse. This is war after all and Rider still needs a horse and Horse is not available now.

And placing Wammawink's situation next to Horse's is kinda weird on Wammawink's/writer's part. Firstly, she/they compare a romantic relationship with a human-pet friendship; you don't need at approval to be friends with other people, but in a romantic relationship - yes. Secondly, there is a comment from Wammawink's part about that it's sketchy on Merguy's part to be so flirty with another girl whole he is still in a relationship (maybe they are poly, who knows). Could this imply that Rider is at fault for getting a new horse?

Also! This could be intentional. Wammawink's eagerness to compare her situation to Horse's is treated as weird after all. And it probably will influence Horse's view on the situation on the future? We'll see.

The trashtaurs were mentioned! The only group Horse inspired all by herself. Does this mean they work on a different logic from other centaurs and their mindset is more similar to Horse's? Horse absolutely hates that the only ones she could recruit are little diseased, kinda mentally unstable, trash centaurs. Buuut.. what if they could be used as a narrative tool and as Horse realises that trashtaurs are useful, she makes similar realisations about herself and her own relationships.

Wammawink

Tbh, when the song about Becky Apples started at first i thought Wammawink would compare the situation to her own insecurities about being Horse's friend and "rivaling" Rider (using really vague language and/or aliases). Since this conflict of hers was established in the previous eps? Kinda a bummer we didn't get a development for this conflict and instead added more stuff on the growing pile of Wammawink's insecurities.

And since we mentioned Jeffrica(?), she and Wammawink are the only llamataur that we have seen. And llamataurs seem to have suffered a lot of damage from the war. Just, i dunno, wish we had a scene about that? Make Jeffrica(?) a character and have her and Wammawink just talk like normal people?

Durpleton & Stabby

I love how the gag of "Durpleton us babying a grown lizard man ha ha" turned into an actual conflict

Stabby called Durpleton his legal guardian awwww 🥺

I love how hard Durpleton tries to be a good caring dad, since it was implied that his parents weren't so great (aka "durpledropping him all the time" and that verbally abusive farting gag i wish to forget about)

"I was saying all the things that a dad supposed to say"

Stabby got cartoonified! Just like Horse in s1! So this can work on minotaurs too... I wonder if the reverse is possible in Horse's world...

The little reprises they have of Horse's and Rider's songs! I just can't they are so precious 😖

Also! Is their relationship a parallel to Horse's and Rider's then? Maybe even a foreshadowing of their reconciliation?👀

Miscellaneous

The birdtaurs are following them! I was getting worried that the show is going to forget about the already recruited taurs after their titular eps end

Comfortable Doug is so extra, i love him🥰

Ched trying to rescue Gary from prison was his most compelling "subplot" so far (probably because it was just 3 gags)

The hole size debate is so weird ghfdhmc like, you are all different sizes?? thus need different sizes of holes??

To start off with some nice stuff i have to say, I love this^ line gjfjjvk

I liked the first centaur(TM) we see: a buff pompous woman is the characted i never knew i needed (Platoria, i think?). Her voice and accent was cute too! (too bad she is a racist/classist😒)

Zulius is gay, yep😏

Dupleton becomes a responsible dad! You go, king!

Protect our babyboy Stabby😔✊ (also he is alive!! i think. you need to take this sword out if him though)

Dupleton's little reprise was so cute!!

Becky!!! Can't wait to see whats up with her and Rider!!

So, the purpose(s) of this ep was: to intoduce this seasons/episode's conflict (the war is coming and Horse needs an army) and have some worldbuilding about the centaurworld rich class with some Ched backstory sprinkled in.

This eps conflict had a pretty weak resolution? All the stuff horse did was ultimately pointless since the little junk taurs just kinda showed up and boom! conflict resolved! They say that Horse's speech inspired them to fight (i'm not really sure why it inspired them but not the cattaurs and others tho?). They weren't really shown during any of her speeches as far as I seen? this would have been a cool foreshadowing.

This is pretty interesting how disinterested everyone seems in the upcoming invasion? Considering their world wad invaded by the same monsters not so long ago? I'd guess this could inply the level of how each group was affected at the time: moletaurs and mertaurs were not really affected, since they live underground/undewater; the Tree Shamans are as apathetic as they were in Wammawink's flashback; cattaurs and the centaurs that live near the beartaur's cave seem the most scared/worried about this, but still not willing to fight, so i guess they were somewhat affected by the war but maybe from secondhand effects of the war?

The message "The rich/priviledged people don't care about the war and making them care is kinda pointless, but poor/unpriveledged people on the other hand would care" is pretty nice (i think it's what they could be trying to say?), but were do the centaurs from the start of the episode fall here? They don't care, so are they like the rich people? Why they didn't care??

I think I would like it if the centaurs they tried to recruit said that they don't worry about the war because they have Shamans, who would protect them (if they only knew about the Wammawink's village,,,). Like horsetaurs they think that they can handle themselves in their own bc magic/money. And have the little trash vermin centaurs (maybe with some off hand scenes where they are shown to not be a part of any of the shaman-led communities and are sorta despised by them) running around while Horse gives her speeches to the different centaur groups. They follow Horse around during her journey and ariund the end of the ep master their courage to offer their help? Maybe they could rescue the herd when horsetaurs find out that Horse tried to impersonate one of them?

The scene with Rider had really weird pathing? Maybe it's just me, but i got kinda confused watching it and The General gave off some scetchy vibes to me? I'm not sure if this was on purpose

I think if this scene started with the clear espablishment that Rider is waiting for The General, bc she wrote him a letter. And then we have the-guy-thats-revealed-to-be-The-General enter the scene, joking about her nervousness worrying his horse, which distracts Rider bc she is horsegirl. We start off with Rider's POV instead of the other way around and the letter and this guy being a general don't come out of nowhere.

Also where is Waterbaby??

The worldbuilding was pretty nice to have, but I'm not sure how the rich class works? Do they rule Centaurworld or are they a separate community that somehow is richer than the other ones? In the S1 the shamans were shown to be leaders of their communities. Do horsetaurs respect the authority of Shamans? What resourses they have that make them this rich if they are just a separate community? Mines? and? Anything??

In my little worldbuilding rewrite I would make them a separate community. They still think horsetaurs are better than other taurs, but they have classism within their group, with rich ppl and poor people. They are much richer then other taurs bc they have better land and maybe some mines with metals and gems or something?

I know they tried to have a joke about horsetaurs not being what Horse wanted, but I think it would be better to tone it down a bit? Maybe they have competent fighters but the Horsetaur Queen still refuses to help, because why would they help taurs that are below them?

Ched's backstory was also confusing??

So he used to live with horsetaurs? I think? Can we talk more about that?? Was he, like, adopted?? Or sorta like a pet to them?? (that would be fucked up tho)

I think this was implemented also to show why Ched doesn't like Horse, because he was a bad personal experience with them

But nothing comes out of it?? His connection to horsetaurs is treated more like joke. And neither he nor Horse start to treat/see each other differently. Horse could realise why he doesn't like her and Ched could see the contrast between the horsetaurs and Horse and realise that she is actually nothing like them? That would be good to have??

But, alas, Ched-shut-up-and-get-likeable-already challange is still relevant

(Also, note: I'm watching/reviewing one episode at a time, so if there is some stuff in one of the future eps that clarifies it, good! Pls don't spoil! 😊)

Centaurworld S2E2 notes

I genuinely liked this episode!

Horse, Zulius and birdtaurs were the main focus of it, with some Wammawink hurt-no-comfort sprinkled in. And I generally liked how they handled them.

I like Horse's character in this ep. She needs an army and she will do anything for it even if it means interating with weirdos and doing weird stuff for them.

But where is the little junk taurs from end end of the previous ep? I think Horse would try to train her army, yn

So,,, it's funny how birdtaurs are Horse's (and the whole herd's minus Wammawink) fanclub, since the only birdtaur we saw before them is Ched😆

Woah, the pelican guy has a sizeable crush on Comftoble Doug (can blame him tho, but, dude, chill)

Mouthpiece(?) is a relatable mess, i love him

So, do birdtaurs treat everything that happens on the land as a show? Maybe they know something about the war in the past? It must have been some kind of Game of Thrones to them or something

Okay, but why the f no one cares about the war?? Seriously???

Stabby🥰

"Stabby is a little young to go on stage" "I'm 43 yearsss old" "And Durpleton - fortyyy seven." Sorry, Stabby, but you are still a baby

Poor Stabby... He keeps getting... stabbed.

Why didn't Horse try to interrogate Stabby yet? Since its confirmed he is more or less consious and can talk? He is from the rivaling army after all

Zulius in black turtleneck🥰

I love how Zulius tried to hype up the birdtaurs by doing promising them what they want! My guy is so smart🥰

Just minor idea: if they had dug into Horse's and Zulius's minor conflict of "flashy and entertaining" vs "simple, quick and straight to the point"... Like, Zulius pushing the idea that the better the show, the more likely the birdtaurs will join them in the war, would make his speech in the end even more satisfying to me (esp if Horse would join in). But the ep is still nice!!

All the little scenes between Horse and Wammawink 🥺😭

They are certainly going for Wammawink&Rider parallels/comparison with this stageplay

Does this mean that Horse is still kinda not as comfortable around Wammawink i can't

Bruh, i can't believe Wammawink doesn't have any fans. She has the character arc and the tragic backstory?? Birdtaurs have no taste

Since there was a lot of hate on her by minor chacters and dismissal by other herd members in this ep, i wonder if they are building up to the episode centered around her and her insecurites about being Horse's friend and her place in the herd (since other herd members had grown and became more independent. even Durpeton became a dad)

Broooo, the fusion/mutation experimentsss. I wonder if The Nowhere King gained his current form a similar way?

Me at the end of the ep: "Oh no, she's dead.."
