“I really wish that in Lolirock, the dark forms that Iris, Talia, and Auriana had lasted longer than a single episode. Just imagine what could have happened if Iris DID go to Ephedia with Praxina and Mephisto? Gramorr still could’ve used her after her got her pendant. She could have been told she was his daughter or servant or SOMETHING to make her want to help him, or just for real brainwashed. 

Auriana could have been locked in a room with a mirror and she would hardly even care that her ring would be taken. Perhaps while she’s there, she can meet her family again and we can find out exactly what happened to the royal family of Volta since their incarceration (possibly alongside the royal families of Calix and Borealis). Then she could eventually snap out of her hair obsession for a bit to reunite with them. 

Talia could have been used to fight the rebellion since the leader would be hesitant to hurt her, and therefore Iris and Auriana would be forced to figure things out without it their most disciplined and intelligent member, which would be a chance for them to grow.”

Character Posings (From S01E12 “No Thanks for the Memories”)

“No thanks for the memories” was a complicated episode to create. In the first draft, Iris only lost her memories and was manipulated by Mephisto and Praxina, but there was no “Dark Iris” transformation or whatever. 

It was at storyboard stage that we felt the episode was messy and confusing. We had to remove tons of things, and the storyboard supervisor had to reboard it almost entirely. Not that this is our greatest episode ever, but at least it’s now enjoyable in its own way.

Fun fact : when we completed Dark Iris color sheet, we loved it so much that we promised ourselves to create opportunities for a Dark Auriana and a Dark Talia in season 2. :)
