“This seems… dangerous.” @Yue
Dark Magic starters@dragonagedmageThere was a looming darkness that grew the further they descended into the ruin, and it became almost scathing as he stopped in the corridor. The feeling seemed to beat inside the room to his left, so he opened the door to see what was behind it. Carefully, he stepped through. The room was circular and large, with shelves of dust caked books that were left in disarray. Something felt off about the little detour, different in an indescribable way. He felt the veil stutter and whir - but not break - as if something was waiting behind it, something just out of reach. There was a statue in the middle of the room, and he couldn’t discern it’s origin. The ruin wasn’t elven or dwarven. Or perhaps it was long ago and had been taken by human influence. He couldn’t tell, but he was easily swayed by mysteries.Tavis stared at the statues eyes which gleamed like sapphires. The rest of it’s body was humanoid but for a monkeys face and cat-like claws that gripped it’s mouth. He had never seen anything like it in his life. He felt beguiled, which was probably not a good thing. It was Yue’s voice that brought him out of his trance, and he was grateful for it.“Curiosity kills the cat.” He muttered it in elven, berating himself for nearly touching the creepy statue. He cleared his throat, composing himself and straightening his posture before turning to Yue.“It feels the source might be within the statue. Can you feel it?” He asked and clasped his hands behind his back, as if scolding them from further temptation. “If it’s true. It doesn’t seem entirely benevolent.”
