@dragonagedmage Warm. Cuddles with Yue were always warm, and more comforting than anything Aylen could think of at the time. Lying there together, her curled up close while he spooned her, his arms around her waist. It felt safe, it felt wonderful. She could just fall asleep there in his embrace without a care in the world...

Her eyes were closed, she was relaxed. Her ears twitched slightly though, when she felt the gentle touch of his nose against the back of her neck and the soft warmth of his breath on her skin there - she scrunched up her nose a little and smiled, letting out a little chuckle. "That tickles..." she murmured, not even sure it was loud enough for him to hear - if anything he might feel her little laugh, with how close their bodies were. She tried to look at him over her shoulder - impossible, the angle wouldn't allow it - so instead she settled for grabbing one of his hands and lifting it to her lips so she could kiss his knuckles. "I like this. A lot." She had always loved hugs, but this... With him... There was a special intimacy to it, and she absolutely loved it even if the closeness brought a bright blush to her face. Was it weird to feel so flustered but so relaxed at the same time when they cuddled like this?

Doomed Apprentice

@katariisaam Solas treasured sleep more than he treasured his own life. It was the only thing he had left. He couldn’t remember the last time he had more than four hours of sleep a day, in months, and that was something new to him. The majority of his fruitful work was when he was sleeping. Dreams were the only things that lead him to useful information. ‘Of course’, he thought with a sneer. ‘These circle mages didn’t understand.’ How could they. He couldn’t blame them, but he was so tired. It was not as if him asking for a lighter workload was him asking for more relaxation... “Master Solas?” ...It was so that he could do the work that they could not. He didn’t hear the person speaking to him, and instead spaced out, half in - half out. Perhaps he could use this worlds alchemy to create a potion that would work to put him in perpetual wakefulness and sleep simultaneously? Solas scratched his chin in deep thought. “Master Solas!?” There were slim hands waving in front of his face, his face was about to fall upon the desk if his palm had not saved him from the fall. He looked at the desperate woman in front of him and straightened into immediate perfect posture, and he forced his eyes to become less bleary with a few blinks. “Yes? How may I help you?” He steepled his hands on the table. “Your apprentice, sire.” She left abruptly, leaving an elf in her wake. One with dark hair and a strange aura. Solas blinked at the elf. “An apprentice?” Why? He didn’t ask that aloud. Instead, he cleared his throat “Your name? The desk is yours. That chair as well.” He nodded towards the chair opposite of him and continued on with his work.

Caught in the Rain

He’d smelled the rain coming earlier, though he hadn’t paid much mind to it because it seemed far off still. Or at least if had been. They’d underestimated the speed of the clouds rolling in. He underestimated the distant sound of thunder having thought it was father.

He’d managed to at least grab their picnic basket of snacks before they’d gotten drenched in the sudden downpour. Though he couldn’t say the same for himself. He’d forgone his usual cloak back at Skyhold thinking the weather would be mild enough to go without it and now he found himself regretting that decision as his light tunic and pants clung to him, hair sticking and curling to him and making him look like some half drowned sea monster.

He stared up at the sky, humming.

“…Well, I suppose this gives our little outing a bit of atmosphere, but I don’t think this is exactly what we had in mind, vhenan.”

Perhaps he’d been over-eager, thinking too much about spending a nice afternoon with his lover instead of being concerned about the weather. At the very least he probably should have brought a heavier coat. All the would-haves and could-haves, but that didn’t change the fact that they were both drenched and hiding among the trees.

Pushing his wet hair back from his face, Elerosse couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness. A little rain wouldn’t hurt in the long-term, even if he was a little chilly, and they had one very undignified walk back to Skyhold.

“Yeah... atmosphere,” he chuckled and let one shoulder brush up against Yue’s as he looked out at the picturesque picnic spot they’d just abandoned. “Of course this would happen the one afternoon we have to ourselves. Naturally, right?”

All the same, Elerosse didn’t seem overly upset, and smiled up at his soaked lover.

“At least we got a little bit of time out there.”

Lasair was the first to ride through the gates of Skyhold, alongside her companions. She trotted inside eagerly, eyes scanning the courtyard for someone in particular. When she met his gaze, a broad smile spread across her face. Yue. With a small, joyful laugh, Lasair all but leapt from her horse and handed the reins off to the nearest groom. With feet now firmly on the ground, she dashed across the courtyard to meet him and tossed her arms around his shoulders.

“I missed you,” she murmured into his shoulder. It was uncharacteristically familiar for the Inquisitor, who was known for her professionalism, especially in public.

She couldn’t help it, though. It had been a particularly arduous expedition, and Yue was a true source of comfort to her. She needed him.

Human sacrifices weren’t usually his preferred tactic. But sometimes, a spell called for more power than his blood could muster, and this one was particularly ritualistic. The unfortunate man was spread out on the table, arcane symbols carved into flesh as Surana stood over him, hands drenched in blood.

The last thing he needed was for someone to walk in on him. The door was supposed to be locked. But of course, fate was never that kind.
