Bites of Cheesecakes by Guy
So yesterday was my birthday and it was… Uneventful. I’m so used to my birthday coinciding with the town fiesta that I couldn’t even be bothered with it much because everyone’s been busy cooking and preparing. I should be hurt, if I wasn’t planning a cray party with my girl gang later this month. #hairflip
I only have one rule for my birthdays: For some weird reasons I need a cake and a spaghetti. Since I decided to hear the mass at Padre Pio in Libis, I made my cake-consuming ritual at one of my fave cheesecake restaurants in town, at Cheesecakes by Guy.
I already sampled Cheesecakes by Guy’s amazingly tasty Raspberry Cheesecake before so I tried a new, though a bit tested, flavor: CbG’s 65% Dark Malagos Chocolate Lava Cake with homemade vanilla cheesecake ice cream.
You have to wait ten minutes to enjoy this meal, as is the rule with any chocolate lava cake, so it will be served warm and gooey for your taste buds. It looks ordinary by way of presentation but wait till the lava flows and you’ll see capital E Eruption. Or explosions.
The dark Malagos chocolate was stronger than most choco lavas but it was bomb. It was so rich and not overpowering. The cheesecake ice cream complimented the cake perfectly. It really tasted like a cheesecake what with its hint of tang and saltiness while still being pleasurably creamy. I loved.
Cheesecakes by Guy is known for serving varied cheesecakes that are well-baked and packed with interesting flavors. It’s genuinely one of the best cheesecake restaurants in town. If you’re having a mad cheesecake craving -- whether your tongue’s longing for a blueberry, green tea, or even a quezo de bola cheesecake -- have a bite from Cheesecakes by Guy. Then repeat.
