Like Ozpin is this evil Bastard gremlin who (unlike Salem) just gallivants around Remnant and enjoys the chaos he causes while he just sends Grimm after Grimm on different towns and villages.
And one day he just happens to come across baby Oscar, like Oscar just crawls away from his Aunt while she’s doing work around the farm and Oz just finds him and Oscar isn’t scared of him and smiles at him and Oz has a Grinch moment where he feels something for the first time in decades.
His blackened heart skips a beat looking at Oscar’s innocent face. He takes Oscar right then, kidnaps him and raises him, (dips him into the GoL’s pool, making him immortal too, so that he will never lose him) from a smol baby to age fourteen. He tried to get Oscar to turn to the Dark Side a couple times, but his son is pure and good and Oz really doesn’t have the heart scold him for it. He adores Oscar, heart of gold and all.
And he will do anything for him.
Anyone decides it’s a good idea to harm his son? Dead. No hesitation.
Qrow punching him? He’s ready to slam his cane into that damn bird’s skull.
Ironwood shooting Oscar? He’d appear out of thin air and send a thousand Grimm after him to rip him apart.
Hazel beating Oscar to a bloody pulp? Well, Ozpin has those fish hooks in Monstra for a reason
He will kill, and he will most assuredly kill for Oscar should anyone ever think of harming his son.
