Thoughts on the Darks Sand short
Now that the short out is indeed officially confirm that my speculation from the Dark Sands teaser is true. Bro they only like slightly taller than a literal child lol
Meeple is meeple sized. That’s cute to me btw idk.
But more importantly I kind of want to point out this. Now idk if it’s just me overthinking it but noticed Meeple seems far less confident in this short compared to their intro animation.
At first I was kind of confused by this cus Meeple just didn’t seem like the type to get so idk how to explain it but skittish. Or just a lot less aggressive than I was expecting. They more on edge and bizarrely jumpy.
Then it hit me why, Meeple is being forced to play a game by someone else’s rules. Meeple can’t cheat their way out of it. Finx bends time itself. The most Meeple could do is walk through walls and roll impossible numbers on die idk what that’s gonna do here.
It’s a neat roll reverse. Definitely means Meeple probably hates surprises.
It was also nice to see cus this confirms something else I was speculating for a bit. When Finx appears they like the only one who immediately gets super defensive. Besides I guess Ollie but that felt more like a child trying to look cool.
Seems like Meeple instincts were kicking in when seeing Finx so hence they expected a fight. Then got thrown off when he didn’t attack, remembers this is supposed to be a game then got confused when it didn’t seem like Finx is playing any rules Meeple knows about.
And if yall are curious yup I love Finx in general. I love me a dude who just loves causing problems on purpose for the lols. Very “I’m a godly being who’s very easily bored” energy. And this mug joke was funny as fuck. This man is definitely a furry.
Unlike Meeple I have 0 confidence they’ll explain Finx at all, in this case in terms of his abilities, which while disappointing I’m definitely ok with. It’s funny so I’ll live with it but if anyone has any hcs about him and what they think he can do pls comment or reblog it or something I’m genuinely curious.
