002 for Shin and the MC (I love Shin so much)

Ooh, another question!

When or if I started shipping it: Mmm, I know I listed it as one of my three favorite ships for MC earlier, but I’ll admit that the only pairing in the whole game I’d say I actively ship is Ukyo/MC. I’m still kind of on the fence about everything else, honestly.

My thoughts: Shin is… a little bit too much. I understand perfectly why he is the way he is, and that he’s tired of being friendzoned, but the pressure he puts on MC makes me nervous no matter his reasons. Having a chip on one’s shoulder and a point to prove does not make it okay to corner one’s girlfriend in a dark forest and essentially demand to share a room before she’s anything less than openly ready. Even though he seems to reform a bit during his route, he still takes tacit consent instead of asking for something more explicit, and the level of impatience he displays, is… uh. Worrisome. So.

What makes me happy about them: The aforementioned reformation. Too bad it took MC losing all her memories for him to shape up.

What makes me sad about them: Not a lot makes me sad about them. Though I am disappointed that Toma walks free in the normal ending.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Haven’t read any fanfics yet.

Things I look for in fanfic: I’d say it’s important that people show Shin in all his problematic glory instead of ignoring the amount of pressure he is willing and able to employ to get what he wants. Or, if they do ignore it, they’d better address that he’s consciously trying to change. I’d love nothing more than to see a sincere apology and a vow to learn what being in a reciprocal relationship truly means.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I don’t really ship Shin with anyone in canon, but since Sawa might have a crush on him in at least one route, I guess they could work out if she calmed down a little. MC, as always, can have Ukyo.

My happily ever after for them: Their good ending is good enough.

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Shin is definitely the big spoon. It makes him feel good to have MC in his grasp, and she feels secure within it, now that she’s gotten used to how he is. Knowing their dynamic, they might have a little game where he doesn’t let her go, which probably turns into a playful wrestling match, which might turn into something more.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Mmm… reminiscing? If not all her memories have returned (I’m always kind of unclear on how many she has at the end of any given route), Shin would devote himself to helping her recover them all. Or at least, that’s what he says he’s doing, walking her all around town and showing her the sights. Even the ones he claims he hates doing, like going places where there are children.
