More books. Always more books. Hypothetically, reading all of these books he acquired from the Spirale Annals should have helped him understand this place a little bit more, but in truth things were just as much of a mystery to him as before. What good was it to read through all of these books, when anyone could just write whatever they wanted?! How crass! Yet he was not deterred- in fact, the mage continued to read aloud wherever he went, occasionally trying to surprise the missing weave around him with a little spell to see if he could shock this plane of existence into giving him more of his forgotten powers! Alas, he could only call upon a shielding ward to protect him from harm- a useful spell, but it was like being told that instead of a mighty feast being prepared for you, you were to be given half of a cracker. Still, his reading seemed more right now, as if something was aiding him in reading... he drew his eyes away from the current book, "Planes, Manes, and Reoccurring Bills", and looked around. "Now what could that possibly be making that noise? If these old ears don't deceive me, it almost sounds like music!" Elminster closed his book (after making sure the correct spot was saved, of course) and ventured on, trying to find the source of this most interesting sound!
