Tonight I went to a very special concert. One of my favourite bands, Lord Of The Lost, performed in Hamburg, but it wasn’t their usual Metal show with lots of make-up, hard riffs, screams and growls. Instead they had their ensemble with them, an orchestra of 13 people (including Paul Keller, drummer in one of my other favourite bands, Darkhaus) and they played some of their rock songs in a new arrangement and also their accoustic songs from Swan Songs I and II. I absolutely loved it! The band and the ensemble were wonderful. Chris Harms has such a beautiful voice and sometimes I feel that when they do their metal performance you can’t really cherish it. But with the accoustic shows you can. I had goosebumps all over several times because his voice is so intense. Also I loved the setting of the show with everyone sitting on chairs like in a classical concert but still feeling all the vibes coming from the band and resonating in the audience. And the new arrangements of the ‘old’ songs are great, I especially liked Full Metal Whore Ball. ;) I wish I could convey all the great moments of the show, all the moments of humour and laughter (one thing I especially love about Lotl is that they don’t take themselves too seriously), all the moments I wanted to cry, the special feeling when you sing with the band to ‘old’ songs in an accoustic setting... This will remain a very special evening to me and a very special memory.
What the hell is going on here
