“Holding back won’t turn back time. Believe me, I’ve tried.” ( from Levi @darknessbaund )
{ from starters }
"When I first got this power, everything was so simple- sounded, simple. Fight titans, plug a wall to keep titans out, do things everyone else couldn't..."
Funny. Back then it all made sense, even if it was difficult to get non-Survey Corps members to understand. Now it was just confusing and frustrating. Now it was a bunch of puzzle pieces with unusual shapes and he couldn't find the spots to piece them together to see the finished picture.
If it had been Rod Reiss' rambles alone he could have swept it aside and moved on. That was not the case. Odd memories here and there would surface from time to time, usually during dreams. Before, he thought they were just that - weird dreams. With more information now, he was starting to understand a whole lot of things he wished he didn't.
"Now I have memories that aren't even mine. I can't see them all and I don't know how far back they go. Actually... I can't really tell which of my dreams are actually just dreams - something normal when a person sleeps - or memories that don't belong to me."
And if he could, maybe he would just give up this power. For the most part he had come to accept what happened, and Historia had too so perhaps he should not have been mulling on it, but those memories - there were more of them filtering around in his mind quite possibly every day.
From a single touch, memories would stir. Didn't that mean it would happen again? Did he actually want to know what else was in those unclear memories? They were better unclear, lest he learned all sorts of things he didn't want to know.
"We always knew this power could be dangerous, but I don't think I know its limits anymore. Plugging the wall, that's one thing - I won't give that up - but why do other people want this power all of a sudden, after so many people feared it? There must be something more to it, but I'm not sure I want to know what that something is."
