Moonlit
As Sun bids Moon goodnight, Her luminous eyes open, Moon begins her watch over her children.
Night crawlers stealth across forest floors As moonlit birds begin their hunt Spiders creep along spindled webs
Moon watches her hunters But also Sun's children Those who shelter the night's cruelty
Flowers weep until next light's breath Critters hide in their burrows Man cowers in their simulated luminescence
Most of all Moon watches her first born She gazes as they keep the family bonds she taught She listens to their calls of love, howling against the wind
Moon watches, the guardian of dreams, that all her children hold, Moon ferries them all into Sun's new light.
