"Coked out Undead Knight." #3000SoulsToRestoreHumanity #darksoulslore #cocacola
"...Regrettably, I have failed in my mission... But perhaps you can keep the torch lit... There is an old saying in my family... Thou who art Undead, art chosen... In thine exodus from the Undead Asylum, maketh pilgrimage to the land of Ancient Lords... When thou ringeth the Bell of Awakening, the fate of the Undead thou shalt know... Well, now you know... And I can die with hope in my heart... Oh, one more thing... Here, take this."Oscar, Knight of Astora. #darksoulslore

What does it mean to be the Chosen Undead? What are you chosen for? Gwynevere tells you to kill her weakened father and fuel the first flame and promises that it will bring an end to the darkness. But what if you are being manipulated by her? You see her but only as an illusion. And she is attempting to maintain her illusion of power. If you kill Gwyn you prove you are strong enough to fuel the first flame. But you are not really bringing an end to the dark. You only continue Gwyn's age of fire, which you are manipulated to do by Frampt. But what if you kill Gwyn and don't light the flame? You just bring forth the darkness faster. And you rule through the darkness. But doesn't humanity thrive in the dark? As seen in Oolocile, a city run by humans shrouded in darkness, humans turn into beasts when together with the dark. With the darkness being inevitable what is the right choice? With light, dark will come no matter what. But wasn't Gwyn's firstborn, the God of War, supposed to share the same fate as his father? Lore suggest Solaire is Gwyn's firstborn. If you manage to not let Solaire go hollow then he may light the first flame when Gwyn dies. Then Solaire may find his sun finally. But where does that leave you? What does it mean to be the Chosen Undead?
Dark Souls 1 has so much good lore, more in depth than its sequel 😪
