Darktail lore bc I’m bored:

- had four mates, one of whom was from Riverclan. He has outlived all of them.

- has something like twelve kits and who knows how many grandkits (he lost count)

- he doesn’t purr so much as he sounds like a chain smoking Chainsaw.

what if he outlived everyone (that he at least kept count of) and that’s why he became so devoted to raising his orphan grandson? He can’t outlive another loved one. He won’t.
