Hey T! I'm heading to college next year, and I was wondering if you had any general advice regarding transitioning from high school to college!
OH BUDDY! you came to the right person
so, I did not want to go to college, like at all. first two weeks I would keep texting my mom how I wanted to drop out and suddenly, college became...bearable.
so basically what happened was I made friends and I got into my classes. it depends where you go but in my experience, college is like a laid back high school but with more concentrated work if that makes sense? like your papers are longer and you have to think a little bit more about your homework but class time is less and your schedule is really flexible.
once I made friends (literally a girl I met while taking out trash my first week of school is now my roommate and best friend of four years) it became a lot easier. don’t be afraid to join clubs and stuff like that too, that’ll make time fly too!!
one thing that’s really hard is privacy. you eventually just accept that you don’t have it. like alone time in my room is like me loudly singing and then like not wearing pants. if you want to talk to somebody on the phone and vent and make sure your roommate doesn’t hear, I usually walk around campus or hang out in the laundry room or lounge.
Also!!! bring a lot of snacks because campus food is only good for like the first week of classes, I swear to god, it’s all a myth!!!
I have a lot of feelings about college experiences since I’m literally about to graduate in two months, rip
