DARPA Robotics Challenge • WIRED Germany
It was two full days of photographing robots at the Fairplex in Pomona, CA for WIRED Germany! This particular shoot was a bit tricky since it happened amidst a competition. All the teams had traveled from different parts of the world to compete in a series of difficult rescue mission courses. While programmers and designers were troubleshooting and putting finishing touches on their robots, we (team of assistants and I) worked our way through the bays capturing personified robot portraits and team leader/robot portraits. Since majority of the robots were unable to be moved from their hangers in fear of damaging them, we had to be extremely careful when we brought our equipment into each bay-- also brief to ensure that each team had an adequate amount of time to finish their creations.
