I made a few atomic big boy vinyl stickers last night. I’ll have them with me at Darwells Art carnival cafe today. Some come on by and check them out from 11-3 in Long Beach Ms. #stickers #artmarket #longbeachms #darwells https://www.instagram.com/p/CQoCmveDG1T/?utm_medium=tumblr
Inspiration Day 4- Darwell's
I took a couple of days to really think about this one. Darwell's has inspired me in so many ways that I really do not know how to put it into words without rambling. Darwell's is in Long Beach, MS. It's on the north end of downtown right next to the fire station. It is family run by Mr. Darwell and Papa D. They have been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives on Food Network. The food is simply, AMAZING! No matter what you chose on the menu, you will not be disappointed. From the pulled pork sandwiches, french green beans to pies.... Everything will overwhelm your tastebuds with flavor. Care to take a look at the menu? What has inspired me most about Darwell's is his passion for people and food. He started his restaurant after working in the business for years. He saw what was offered, and knew that he could do something better. He started his restaurant and ensured that nobody ever felt like a stranger. The decor of the establishment is done by Papa D's own artistic talents. When you get your drinks, Papa D even does a special drawing on the cup for the ladies. No matter how busy Mr. Darwell is, he makes sure to walk around and make sure what you ordered was to your liking. When Hurricane Katrina hit, Mr. Darwell kept his doors open. He ensured that nobody went hungry. He served hot meals and did not charge anyone for his food. He takes care of the community and the military community out there. He has gone overseas with America's Chefs to give the troops a great meal while they are serving in a war zone. Darwell's is truly an inspiration. From pursuing a dream, taking care of others, treating his customers like family and ensuring to stay true to his beliefs... how can you not be inspired by this place?
