A camera was found, having recorded the whole thing
Ruianna stayed hidden behind Regigas using the scraping sound of stone and the release of the cult members’ pokemon to cover up the sound of her releasing two of her own pokemon, an Arcanine, and a Gengar, who darted out from behind the living statue to join in the battle. Poltergheist and Arko both growling as they surprise-attacked the pokemon of the masked people, and two of them groaned.
“Just use the sedative, then we’ll look for the girl.” “It’ll only work on one of them dumbass, ghost and poison types are both resistant, making the Gengar immune! Plus, don’t you think we should back out now? If we get smited by a living statue god we won’t be able to take the girl. Besides, she can’t stay in here forever!” “She can if the pokemon here are helping her out! Sedate the statue and we can grab her and go. Best strategy.” “Are you forgetting that we don’t have enough sedative to do that?! Besides, it might not even effect them! Houndoom use crunch on the damn ghost.”
The pokemon obliged, biting down on the ghost, who then used spite, reducing the power points of the move, much to the trainer’s annoyance.
“Much as I hate to say it the mutt is right. If she’s hiding behind the damn thing, she’s gonna have Pokemon on her team. She probably sent out those two to act as a distraction while Regigas gets moving, and then, if we defeat it, She’ll be able to wipe up what’s left of our teams with her own. Besides, if you’ve ever checked out that blog she runs, which I did before we came here, you know we need that sedative for her ace!” The battle continued on, with the five trainers focusing on Regigigas, trying to take it out as quickly as possible, something that required mega evolution and a few attacks on Ruianna’s own pokemon, knocking them out.
Regigigas, much to it’s credit had still attacked, despite being held back as it needed time to get going, and had almost won, but right as it really started going, it was taken down, And Ruianna was forced out in the open. She did her best to fight back, using items on her pokemon to keep them going and commanding them, but before she could grab the pokeball containing Meyu, it was ripped from her grasp and tossed away from her. To her credit, she’d fought back fiercely, bitting, kicking, and when she realized she had no hope, channeling her aura into an attack that burned the members holding her, rushing to her bag and pokeballs, where Meyu was but being caught anyway, after being sedated.
Worldwide TV-broadcast interview brought to you by Mauville television
“Welcome to Co-ordinators galore! Where we interview the best and most interesting coordinaters as of now! Today we have an extremely special guest, so special in fact, that while we don't usually allow pokemon on set, we had to make a special exception just for her! It's the one! The only! Ruianna Arcadia!"
Ruianna walked out onto the set, aura rising in small amounts from her hands, but she seemed quite calm, a small white Riolu, the usually black markings a somewhat darker silvery color, and the yellow ring between the white and that of the usually dark markings. Her fur was a little bit longer, and all but the usual Riolu markings were covered in dark gray almost black in some lighting Liepard spots, aside from her stomach following after her. Tatha was already perched on her shoulder.
Meanwhile Meyu was already on set, appearing in the background, seemingly relaxed as he leaned against the wall, eyes open as he seemed to focus on the tablet in his paws.
The pinkette sat down, picking the Riolu up and setting her in her lap.
"So Ruianna, as every dedicated Coordinating fan knows, about five years ago you simply quit, without a single word, however there were rumors that the reason was a toxic fanbase, tell us all what we're dying to know, why did you quit?"
"I was actually the one who spread those rumors. I figured that maybe if they thought they were the ones who caused my absence in the first place, they'd get better. Roll the damn footage."
A clip rolled, showing a mob of people you could barely see through, all shouting out questions about Rui, including one very hurtful comment in particular, clearly heard above the rest. "Why is Ruianna even friends with someone like you anyways?!"
Rui's Aura flared at that comment, visible even on camera as her calm expression quickly turned to one of rage, and both her Eevee and Meyu glared at the camera.
"But clearly a rumor isn't enough. I'm talking to everyone who mobbed a friend of mine new to the contest scene in Lillycove, you all KNOW what you did, and if you ever do something like that again I will leave the contest scene, permenantly. I love contests. My pokemon love them too, but I refuse to let a toxic fanbase get in the way of my attempts to follow my dreams as a researcher and live my life happily or ruin the fun for my friends and family! This is the only warning you guys get. You all better behave yourselves. Or that contest I participated in will be the last one for me."
"But didn't Caden say that if you permanently quit contests because of your fanbase that he would to?!"
"Yes. We agreed when my fans started getting toxic that if they refused to let us live our lives like normal people save for events, either of us, and drove us to the point of quitting permanently, we'd both quit."
"What was the first breaking point to make you decide to quit the first time?"
"It was *#$@&%¢© horrible, I could barely go outside without being practically stampeded, my Pokemon were scared I'd end up hurt, and that's not even mentioning the paparazzi swarming my entire life. But the real breaking point was when they broke into my family's home where I was staying and tried to steal one of his Pokemon."
"Was it really that bad?"
"Yeah. And getting my education to become a certified legendary researcher? Forget it. But that's in the past, and if I find out that they're going after them again? Not only will I quit, but there's a good chance Meyu will take it personally."
"Mewtwo? The Mewtwo?!"
"Actually, I'm a different Mewtwo, and frankly prefer my nickname. But yes, I will take it personally. Rui's business is my business, and if something is bothering her, it's my job to fix it. No matter what means I may have to use to do so."
"And he's speaking Galarian. Not using Telepathy. Speaking. Full Galarian. I better not lose my job because a god threatened our viewers."
Rui's Aura calmed down, and Meyu went back to the tablet, Tatha adjusting her position on her trainer's shoulder. "Anyway, on a brighter note, I would like to confirm that any rumors that may have been heard about me adopting a kid are in fact true."
"I was just wondering about that, did you really use a Z-move with a Mega on the battlefield? Who were the people you were defending him from? Were they really using shadow Pokemon?"
"I did, but I wouldn't suggest it, I barely managed to pull it off myself, and even then it drained me quite a lot. If someone without a strong enough life force attempted it without knowing what they were doing, using the precise method I did, and had more than enough life force to make a mistake? Well they'd die."
"She's exaggerating on how much it drained her, but that's because she has an inhuman amount of Aura."
"As for who I was fighting, well let's just say they weren't exactly, good people. Who they were doesn't matter, and don't go pestering my kid for answers. I'm going to be even less tolerant of any treatment of him that's close to what happened to my friend. You can talk, interact and ask him a few questions, but if he wants you to back off and you refuse to respect that he doesn't want to answer your questions or talk? Let's just say that I'm not going to beg for your lives if Meyu decides to defend him. And to answer that last question, yes, they did. Two, but I've since purified them. They'll be fine. Wish I could say the opposite for their former trainers however."
"I can fix that."
"Meyu, no. No murder, I'm not encouraging that."
The reporter nervously cleared her throat. "So, who exactly is your adopted son anyway?"
Rui's face lit up at that question, mood changing instantly from the former angry mama Ursaring she'd just been a moment ago.
"His name is Lazar and he's an adorable child and I love him he's just so precious and amazing and he's one of those kids that must be protected always because they're so pure and kind and did I mention how much I care about him?"
"He's probably watching right now."
"Really?!"
"Also totally not going to listen to what you said earlier."
"Do I need to get the spray bottle?!"
"..... No.. also really? On TV? That's gonna be there forever!"
"And looks like that's all the time we have today, thank you for watching and thank you Miss Arcadia for letting us have this opportunity!"
Tapu Koko
Tapu koko is one of the most well known of the Tapus, as he’s quite social, and known for his love of battling, and apparently chocolate, the latter of which I discovered when I was attempting to take my lunch break and he stole my chocolate bar, and later stole a half of one of my peanut butter and nutella sandwiches. Meyu found this, and my food agressive reaction of snarling when he came back near my food to be hilarious, as did Poltergheist and Tapu Koko. I did not find it hilarious. Meyu and Koko got along pretty well, practically staring me down until I huffed and let them battle. It was a pretty fun battle, both of them as strong as they were, though there was still quite the gap in natural strength, made up for by Koko’s experience, something Meyu lacked, as I haven’t been able to battle with him all too often considering the fact that he’s well, a Mewtwo. After the battle, which Tapu Koko lost, he allowed me to heal him begrudgingly, after I said it was because I wanted to thank him for such a challenging and fun battle, which gave me an opportunity to get a close look at him. His actual shell was smooth and solid, and his muscles were of the much leaner variety I think, as he was less bulky and more fast. I had explained earlier that I wanted to be able to fully describe his majesty for others to hear, something that made him much more willing to deal with my observation, as apparently he has a bit of an ego. Don’t tell him I said that. He seems to have a sweet tooth, preferring sweeter berries, and eating sweeter meats if they’re available. Meyu wasn’t as appreciative of me fawning over Koko, but he allowed it as he knew my reasoning for doing so. Tapu koko’s skin is covered by a layer of fine feathers, which are almost like a thin layer of down, with the feathers on his head being larger, and being what forms the crest on his head, something he seems to be very proud of. The feathers below his waist are long, and more flexible. I also asked various questions, Meyu rolling his eyes multiple times. Koko is a little fickle, but he claims that he just sometimes doesn’t like certian people. He’s one of the more active Tapu, preferring to crack down more harshly every now and then as a warning, but keeping the punishments based on how bad the crime was, and how many times he’s punished them in the past for the most part. He dislikes unprovoked attacks on wild pokemon, but he’s more understanding if it was to prevent a particularly dangerous pokemon from attacking first, so long as it doesn’t happen very often. Stealing is something he punishes more based on what was stolen, with stealing pokemon being the worst thing and something he cracks down on quickly and harshly, and stealing other things being something he might overlook if there’s not a big fuss raised over it. Another thing he’ll be quick to punish is murdering, though he takes into account the motive. If it’s self defense, he’ll let you off, giving a warning if it was a pokemon murdered, and for other reasons, aside from insanity he cracks down, often roughing up the person before tossing them over to the authorities, though he may kill someone who has murdered multiple people, killed pokemon for reasons other than self defense or defense of another, or killed children. Tapu Koko says that he’s much more leanient with children as often they might not know they were doing something wrong or might not have meant to do something, sometimes leaving the parent with a warning. He’s not very toleratant of child abuse if he’s aware of it, but he did admit that sometimes it’s not that he doesn’t want to help, it’s that he isn’t sure how to do so exactly, as him trying to interefere might make things worse, and depending on the type of abuse he might not know how to punish the parents. Meyu brought up a good point about if he had to punish pokemon. Tapu Koko was a bit surprised at this, but he mentioned that for the most part, he didn’t have to worry as much about that, and that most Tapu didn’t, but that sometimes he did have to settle disputes, or set up a count system for predators. He also said that Ratta and Yungoos were the pokemon he recieved complaints about the most, but that the fear of the Tapu wrath was usually enough to keep all of them in line for the most part. Tapu Koko was much more tolerant of my questions and observations than I had expected, though he said that Bulu might be hard to get interested enough to answer, and Fini might take some work convincing, but that he’d try to put in a nice word for me, and suggested I try talking to Tapu Lele, as she’s known to be more docile, if a little overbearing.
Almost there!
Sorry for my inactivity, I've been pretty busy lately, but thanks to Meyu, I might be able to finish up by the end of this month maybe even sooner, depending on how long it takes to properly research for my thesis paper about the connections between Mew, Mewtwo, and Ditto. It had to be a theory to work, which is fine as long as I do proper research.
Speaking of which I had a chat with Gladion, wo agreed to help me out on this by checking the files the Aether Paradise had on Ditto and Mew, and in the process we found Meyu's files too. I've been using this as the basis for my research, along with a friend's ditto(whom I was pokesitting for) and Meyu when he's willing to help out.
Aside from what we already know of the similarities, I looked over genomes, and found quite a few similarities between Meyu, Ditto, and the Mew DNA Gladion forwarded me from the lab where he found Meyu's files. Considering this, I wanted to do more research on behavioral similarities and the way they might interact.
I started by recording the behavior both of Ditty(my friend's Ditto) and Meyu, comparing and contrasting between the two, as well as comparing it to the theorized behavior of Mew and the original or first Mewtwo. Meyu at first seemed confused by Ditty, who was cheerful and friendly, even transforming into Meyu to better interact and communicate with him, easily falling into taking advantage of Mewtwo's psychic abilities, which he seemed to fall into using much more easily than other typings, he became especially adept at telepathy and telekinesis, and seemed to enjoy flying around.
The two easily fell into a friendship, and I decided to try testing Ditty's abilities more.
Ditty, as Meyu, was much weaker, but just as adept with his abilities, which I tested through various puzzles and challenges, across a few different psychic-type Pokémon. Ditty appeared to do best when transformed into Meyu, seeming to have a much better grasp of his powers.
I decided to try having Ditty transform into Mew from a picture, which they managed to do flawlessly. Ditty seemed to handle themself very well in this form, doing much better on all the puzzles and tests(I used it's normal form as a sontrol for physical testing, and used Kadabra as a control/baseline for psychic tests, though I did multiple Pokemon for each just to make sure I had enough data), but couldn't seem to hold a form, no matter what Pokemon, for any longer than the average Ditto, though Ditty did seem most comfortable as a Mew.
Later on that week, I decided to do a test to see how accurately Ditty could transform from memory, having had it transform for testing all in one day. I asked them to try transforming into the same Pokemon I had it test as from memory, explaining it as a game to see how good it could do. Ditty was eager to try, though they did make a good number of mistakes, usually on details like color or pattern, sometimes proportions would be off, but she did alright all things considered. Then I had Ditty attempt to transform into Meyu, which ended up being the most accurate one at that point, but I couldn't be sure that it wasn't because Ditty had just been doing it a lot recently. So I asked it to turn into Mew again, which it had only done and seen once.
I was shocked when Mew ended up being the most accurate transformation by memory, recording a video and making sure to take pictures(I took a lot). The only inaccuracy was the color, being a noticeably bit more purple than pink.
Safe to say, I've got a very good shot at winning against everyone else in the research thesis contest, after all, winner gets to graduate early, and Meyu helping me out with the research has increased my chances, though the fact I did this on a legendary I happen to own won't get me bonus points, after all, we want legitimate Pokemon professors who put time and effort into their research, and make sure the Pokemon they're studying are alright with it or aren't affected by it.
Speaking of which, Ditty actually belongs to my friend Daniel, who I made sure was okay with me doing this, and I made sure Ditty was okay with it too. Meyu wouldn't have helped if he didn't want to, so therefore he was alright with it. Plus I asked all of them at least five times if they were alright with it.
