The day was perfect and the night turned out to be even better. Nervous was not something he had been accustom to lately but ever since Savannah set them up on their blind date, that's all he felt around her. It wasn't a bad kind of a nervous, it was a new happy kind of nervous. Like, he had something to look forward that day. Whether it be waking up to a text from Eliza or just walking into school and seeing her by his locker. He hadn't been in a relationship for a while now but she made him feel he wanted to giver her more than laughs, smiles and stealing random kisses. He had been putting it off for a while and planned on doing something while they were in Miami Beach but after hearing about a day at Disney, he knew that that would be better than some walk on the beach in the sunset. He thought that she probably wouldn't care and his main focus now was if she'd say yes to him asking her to be his girlfriend.
There they were, standing in the dark but nothing was really dark. There were people all around and lights surrounding them and the fireworks were a drowned out background noise that he hadn't heard for a while. Reaching down between them, he found her hand and laced their fingers together, looking down at her with a big nervous grin. Giving himself a small pep talk in his head that seemed to last forever, he finally leaned down to her ear and whispered, “If someone asked me why I like you, I wouldn't have to think. I know the answer right off the top of my head but I don't think anyone has that amount of time on their hands to listen to me answer one question.” After he finished he swallowed the lump in his throat and leaned back a little to read the expression on her face. “To make that answer short and sweet, I'd like to be able to say that you're my girlfriend,” he smiled looking up at the sky for a moment. “So, what I'm trying to say is...will you be my girlfriend, Elizabeth?”
Glancing back at Savannah he tried to not look annoyed at the look of excitement on her face. Giving her a nudge with his eyebrows he took a tiara from her and then turned his attention back to the girl that had that goofy smile spread across his face. Placing it on her head gently he took both of her hands into his and kissed her gently before smiling against her lips. “After all, you are the only princess here that's gotten my attention all day.”
