Con Recap Day 1: Friday
So the 4 of us go to the center early and was lucky enough to sneak in with Cardi who was setting up their table, so Joe and I just walked around seeing meeting our friends while they setup. I got to see Amanda (Spittfire) for the first time and that was really great because weve known each other for so long it was amazing getting to see her in person and next to here was Jackson (7nights) and Gabby (Equestrian Strumpet) who I was one of the people I have not seen since last year's convention along with Dream (Filly Twilight) for the first time too. After that we went around, saw TJ, Roolo, Stripey, Ben, met Will/Zach (Surprise), UC77 (Hot Blooded Pinkie Pie), saw Raikissu (Ask MLCblobs) for the first time in over a year, saw Sally and Ahmedz and got to meet some of the guys at The Pone Booth like LoosePopcorn (Inkblot), Rofljay (Acetic Rarity) and ParadigmPizza (Turn Order) [All great dude who I met through the Mario Kart games] and so many other people.
Everyone knew immediately when the doors opened to the public because a rush of people flooded in and that's when the shopping began. I hit up all my friend's tables and even was TJ's first sale. One of my favorite buys was the derpy plushy because I always wanted one and good a really good price for the quality.
The first panel I went to was about Critiquing and how to properly give and take a good criticism with art to see Amanda, Cardi and others. It was very helpful and insightful and overall a fun showing. All the artists were experienced and very knowing and was able to answer the questions asked mostly by one dude. One of my favorite parts was when someone on the panel was talking and some music from next door got really loud and Amanda's face literally went something like 0_0
Another panel I saw was the Friendship is Witchcraft which was hilarious. Seriously, if you haven't seen the new one yet go find it. Followed by that was the one of the artist panels with Will, UC77, Dream, Rai, Megasweet, Sally, Stripey and more. It was really fun and enjoyable and really seemed like it had a natural flow to it. After that I met Paul (Frigid Drift), who was awesome enough to give me a free Frigid button, and then I met Rhody too. It was really awesome getting to see him and get hugs.
Later on i tagged along with a bunch of people to Johnny Rockets and got a milkshake then went back to a hotel and watch the Mario Brothers Movie with a load of people. Its a movie so bad its good, like watching a train wreck. Afterward War & I crashed with Vargras, Raito and her sister in their room. Vron didn't walk in till about 4 am when we were sleeping.
