whenever i watch the show and they r having a moment and then the writers force in some comment about a man i get po'd so i like to imagine that to them they are desperately trying to confess their love to each other but a godlike force is physically preventing them from doing so
overall i just think that darcy is really in love with asta. And shes known this for a long time and she's tried to bury it any way she can but it never works. meanwhile asta has always struggled to differentiate types of love in part bc of her family, eventually she figures out that just because her feelings for darcy are different than her feelings for any man doesnt mean they arent romantic (and oh boy are they)
adding to this. Asta only realizes after a conversation w jay where jay kinda explains how she realized she was gay and what its like etc and says smth like "yknow, like how you are with darcy" and asta goes what? no what? no what? ...OHHHHH
