R.I.P.
Of all the jobs I've held over the past fifteen years of my career, I have to say I loved working for a record store the most out of all of them. My work includes a good deal of what some would describe as more professional roles such as data entry technician, receptionist, and paralegal, but while they earned more money, I never experienced the same level of gratification as filling up a register on a busy night, hanging with my crew of long-suffering co-workers during late night inventory, and keeping my section stocked and organized. I guess I would just rather alphabetize CDs than files and pleadings, and greet customers walking through the door than recite a rote slogan over the phone. It's just a shame that brick-and-mortar record stores have gone the way of the dinosaur since internet retail took over.
