Journal Suggestions for the Web of Science
A message from Michael Bragg, Thomson Reuters:
Over the last year library liaisons inquire about specific journals that Thomson Reuters may wish to review for inclusion in the Citation Indexes that comprise the Web of Science. As you know each journal is evaluated and must meet certain collection development standards before being accepted for indexing.
You may already know about this process but if someone would like to recommend a journal the first step will be to check and see if this journal is already covered in Web of Science. You can do this by consulting our master journal list. http://science.thomsonreuters.com/mjl/ Look for the database marked “Web of Science.”
If the journal is not on the list, you can check and see if it is currently in the evaluation process by submitting this form http://science.thomsonreuters.com/info/jrneval-status/ . Once this is submitted our Editorial Department will be in touch to keep you updated.
If the journal is not currently being evaluated, then you can ask the journal publisher to submit the journal for evaluation at this website: http://science.thomsonreuters.com/info/journalsubmission/ It is best that the publisher submit the journal since they must provide the full text copies and we will have to contact them during the process. Because of this in the Access field is for the publisher, but since it’s mandatory you can just put in the publishers name.
