February is International "Expect Success" Month
But are you expecting to fail? Do you know why that's what you expect?
Probably because we're more comfortable with failure. We can identify it, we relate to it, we've experienced it. For some of us we treat it like a bad for us boyfriend or girlfriend that we should have dumped a long time ago, but we kept a death grip on him or her, time and time and time, again. But don't worry, this months W.O.W is to help you get rid of that little quickening that keeps fooling you into thinking that you're in love. It ain't! It's really heartburn and we're breaking up with failure!
Most people, not just entrepreneurs, are truly scared of success because we know how to fail and therefore, fall. We've perfected the fall, we know just how to plan the landing, so we don't really hurt ourselves. We've bonded with it. Some of us are fearful of success because we've been around someone that came into money or had some great breakthrough or promotion and we witnessed the great metamorphosis. The Hyde/Jekyll change that put a forever kind of fear in us so deeply rooted that we swore, we'd never want to be like them. We've heard people since the very first time that we let our idea go beyond our lips say; you're going to fail. We have existed expecting to! Only marginally believing that we would experience success.
But in truth, we need to get comfortable with the winning feeling, the afterglow, the euphoria, the guy that opens the car door, the girl that let's you watch the game, of being a bonafide Successful Person. We need to wear the title like a warm fuzzy blanket, a second skin, our favorite slippers and then; OWN IT! It belongs to us; just like it belongs to any other John or Jane Doe business person who has cashed a 6 figure check. It's Ours!
So, the next time you're feeling afraid you'll fail, stop and ask yourself," What am I really afraid of"? Is it really that you'll fail? Or are you really afraid of what will happen when You/Your Product/Your Service/Your Brand, is recognizable? Once you realize that success can be comfortable, that YOU can be comfortable with success; then falling and failing will actually become unsuitable for you. It always was, you were just afraid of dating someone new.
Get it's address, it's phone number and any other vital information you need, in order to form an intimate relationship with it. You're meant for each other! You just need to nurture and grow your relationship with each other.
What's the worse that can happen? The same thing that happens when you've got a crush on someone. You ask for a date with them and the crush turns into many dates and then; love. You've been smitten with Success a long time, now it's time to form a long lasting relationship. Go ahead, Success is the ONE!
