can't believe she took me to a date, watched me embarrass myself trying to roller skate and still took me home

weekend round up two dates two diff guys both successful both have advanced on to the next round.

notes:

-boys will walk miles in 5 degree weather w u if you’re adamant enough that this is your preferred date activity. and u get to stunt on the midwest transplants w your superior layering powers / be a knight in shining armor when u bring an extra hat (they always forget)

-there is a bougie dining hall in minneapolis with mouse droppings under the booth (first strike), $10 “mocktails” that are just lemonades (second strike) and bathrooms marked “he/they” and “she/they” (a hate crime)

-it’s kind of a game changer to go into dates and just say what’s on your mind bc if they’re not vibing we just won’t go out again. same w being unashamed abt having a body that’s often gross. leaky nose? IBS? literally who gives a fuck it’s winter and we’re all stressed anyways

-just straight up let ppl know you’re an alcoholic in recovery & also disabled w access needs. it weeds out bitches who can’t hang & makes the activities you do actually unique and interesting

I went on a date tonight. The first in two months. And I feel indifferent about it.

The invitation for drinks came kinda outta the blue from a guy I met in the fall last year(?) And we were chatting on and off. We tentatively made plans in January but they got derailed.

We lost contact (or so I thought) since then and then he reaches out via Instagram and then texts to see how I've been.

I got dressed up tonight, feeling excited but cautious about this. We originally were going to meet at 630 then he moved it back to 730.... fine.

When we finally meet, he looks like his photos (perhaps better) and we start chatting. It was a nice flow of conversation but something lacked and I couldn't put my finger on it.

We sat and chatted for an hour and a half and it was nice. It wasn't the worst date, it wasn't the best date, it was just a date.

A big hug and i thanked him for the pizza and I walked myself to my car.

I came home right around 930 to no text asking me if I got home okay. Told mama about the date and she looked at me and said, I don't think your heart is in it and I think you're scared to get hurt again.

I think she's 100% right, I've had my heartbroken 3 times over the past 5 years and it's really made me rethink how I approach relationships.

It's good I went out on a random Wednesday night, in a cute outfit and this could be a good summer thing but at what cost?

Lots to ponder, but also not a lot to ponder considering I don't think there will be a second date. And I won't be that upset about.

Has a date tonight with a new guy, and it went really well! Within the first 10 to 15 minutes of hanging out, we both could tell it was going well and that we matched together in a good way. And He’s Jewish which is a plus✡️

We went for a walk on the beach, got cupcakes & had some smooching time it was a very high school date and I really enjoyed it

Had someone conveniently forget to tell me that they were poly and had a partner until almost a week into talking with them. I’m pro poly just not for myself
