Biography

Jae-Hyuk Han, better known as Jay, is the third generation Kumiho of his family line, taken after his mother Maddy and born to his human father, Hein, born and raised in the city of Pyongyang, North Korea until he was five years old and his parent chose to leave for the states where they settled in the small town of Highland Springs. Maddy had lived for over nine centuries and was reaching her last lifetime where she would ascend to the Dark Dimension, she hoped that Highland Springs would allow her family to live peacefully where she could also train and instruct Jay on how to control and maintain his own abilities as a Kumiho.

Jay attended school and was an extroverted individual, eager to participate in group projects, with a creative mind and a determination to finish anything that he put his mind to made him a quick favourite among his teachers and peers, he leaned more assertively towards physical sports which he found he excelled in whilst his academics could use more focus. When he was eight years of age however, his mothers past came back to haunt their steps, a group of hunters having bared witness to the destructive power of a Kumiho some years before Maddy met Hein tracked her and her family to Highland Springs whereupon they set upon Jay and his father Hein.

Having yet to trigger his abilities as a Kumiho, Jay was defenseless during their abduction whilst his father fought to protect and defend his son, he was outnumbered and the Hunters skills in combat and hand-to-hand greatly outweighed his fathers abilities. Using Hein and Jay as bait to lure Maddy out of hiding and to trap her. Fearing that his wife and son may be killed, Hein helped Jay out of his bonds and directed him to run as far and as fast as he could whilst he chose then to distract the hunters. Jay fled at first, making it as far out of the building that he and his father were being held at before a cry from his father drew him back.

Jay returned in time to witness the murder of his father at the hands of his mothers Hunters, triggering his abilities and setting the world aflame.

His mother arrived in time only to douse the Fox Fire that was quickly spreading through the rest of the street, taking her son and running from the city that had once been their home. Maddy and Jay remained on the move for several years until Maddy became aware of Dalcrest, a sanctuary for preternaturals. Taking her son with her, Maddy approached the Dalcrest Elders Council to ask permission for her son to remain in the city. Given their nature as Kumiho, and with no known relations within Dalcrest the efforts to integrate into the city was met with various obstacles but eventually the Yamaguchi Kitsune clan agreed to take Jay in as a ward.

Maddy, convinced that her son would be safe from the enemies of her past within the city, said her goodbyes and left. To this day, Jay is unaware of where it is that his mother went, whether she left to end her hunters whom dogged her every step or if she chose instead to return to the Dark Dimension. Without his mother, Jay’s behavior quickly unsettled. Avoiding school, ignoring his studies and choosing instead to focus almost entirely on sports and physical activity, he had a difficult time controlling his abilities with fire, especially when he became angry and was prone to setting things on fire. The Yamaguchi clan reacted to this behavior quickly, tutoring Jay in his studies and instructing him in the use and control of his abilities with fire. He has also been recieving tutoring on his fire abilities by the witch Mithian Pope.

It was during these trying times where Jay felt much like an outsider and abandoned by his own mother that he met Adrianna. Though instinct demanded that he flee from her as she was a werewolf and he a Kumiho, Jay resisted the urge and the pair fell into an unlikely friendship that spanned their middle school years and has continued into their senior year in high school. Jay became more comfortable in Dalcrest thanks to his tutelage and his friendship with Adrianna, though he still possesses a quick temper and an even quicker rise to violence as well as a resistance to authority, Jay is at peace with who and what he is.

BIOGRAPHY

   Born into the wealthy Zharkov family in just outside of Gotham City, New York, Mithian is the daughter of witch Anna Zharkov (nee McAlister) and is the step-daughter of Viktor Zharkov, the President of Zharkov Industries. Enjoying a fairly privileged early life Mithian received above average grades especially in the sciences though had few friends due to her shy and timid nature. At the age of six, Mithian’s unique ability manifested for the first time when she went missing after following an injured animal into the local woods during a family camping trip in Russia and got lost, local authorities finding her two days later in a wolf den, unharmed and in surprisingly good shape for a child that had been in the woods for that length of time. It was unclear how the child survived the drop in temperature with little more then a light coat though Mithian told them the animals kept her safe and warm. While living near Gotham, Mithian had become friends with Bruce Wayne the son of the CEO of Wayne Enterprises whom was in talks with her father to move forward on a joint project between their companies. However after the deaths of Bruce’s parents Mithian’s family moved to Pennsylvania when she was age ten. Becoming friends with Malachi Pope, a fellow magic-user who had also begun to develop his abilities early, Mithian began to settle into the town. Viktor was also seen to dote on her often while her mother appeared more stern.

   By the age of eleven Mithian’s life altered drastically when the long-time affair between her mother and fellow pure-blooded warlock and Malachi’s father, Matthew Pope, was exposed, Mithian learning that he was her biological father. While Viktor Zharkov assured his step-daughter that he would always provide for her and continue to think of her as a daughter, he was soon murdered during what appeared to be a home invasion and less then a year later Anna Zharkov married Mithian’s biological father. In the following years Mithian grew closer with her biological father and half-brother though appeared closed off to others. Her magical abilities also seemed stagnant, at first believed to be a result of the emotional trauma her step-father’s death had caused upon her. Mithian’s ethnicity is a mixture, having Russian and Scottish ancestry from her mother and Italian and English from her biological father. She also enjoys duel citizenship in both Russia and America and can speak English, Russian, and Latin nearly fluently. It can also be noted that while there are many witches across the globe, the Pope and McAlister bloodlines both descend from an ancient Cult of Trivia, known in ancient Rome as the Ordo Septem, comprised of seven pure-blood families of witches whose circle was known to possess great power and influence. Forced into the shadows as religious change commenced throughout the world, nearly all of the coven’s members were depleted during the witch hunts in both Europe and Salem.

   During Mithian’s senior year of high school, Mithan met a foreign exchange student named Kazuma who seemed her polar opposite, him being more bold and adventurous in contrast to her more timid nature. Sometime later her half-brother began to grow ill and his magical ability began to mysteriously diminish leading her father to believe his illness was mystical in nature. Soon after this Mithian discovered that Kazuma was a warlock. After some careful investigating her father discovered that Mithian’s mother was secretly practicing dark magic and had stolen her daughter’s power when she was a child and murdered her then husband Viktor Zharkov whom had intended to take Mithian with him to Russia to protect her from her mother, making it look like an accident. During this time, Mithian and Kazuma began falling in love though Mithian was soon faced with Malachi’s sudden death. Shortly after graduation Anna was confirmed as the source of Malachi’s death and the Elder’s Council was convened to decide against her. When a fight ensued between Mithian’s mother and her would be captors, Matthew and some of the town hunters, Mithian’s mother killed her when she stood in front of her father to save his life, leaving her father an opening to kill her mother and causing Kazuma to believe Mithian was dead. However, shortly after this, Mithian’s father gave up his life, trading his life to bring Mithian back. With her powers restored Mithian appeared scared of the power she held and emotionally traumatized by the events which had unfolded even with the support of the remaining members of the Dalcrest Coven. She was then cared for by the Zharkov trust and the standing C.E.O. of Zharkov Industries, Anton Petrov, whom was a very close and loyal friend of her step-father’s until her eighteenth birthday a few months later.

   Mithian then applied and enrolled into Dalcrest Academy, a highly prestigious and elite university not far from her family home in Pennsylvania. While initially a shy and timid girl, Mithian grew confident, outgoing, and ambitious, discovering her true potential under the charismatic guidance of Ethan Crane. Encouraging and manipulating her to use her power rather then be placed back into a powerless situation Mithian began to fall victim to the seductive nature of magic using her power somewhat recklessly and selfishly. She was recruited into the Vitale Society by Ethan, their relationship placing her into his inner circle, and officially left the Dalcrest Coven as she became a part of the Vitale Circle. While most witches appear to hold either a strong good or evil alignment, while still dedicated to balance between the two, Mithian appears to be guided by her instincts and whims, similarly to an animal. She tends to speak before she thinks and has become a highly skilled manipulator, willing to play all sides, using her abilities for her own personal gain and partaking in questionable activities to suit herself and protect the people she cares about, even at the expense of others which is a contrast to her previously more selfless nature.

   Mithian is known for having a complex set of emotions maintaining an unusually calm attitude in dangerous situations while still “having a heart” as witnessed by those she is close to. She can turn defensive when met with confrontation and passionate when dealing with issues or people she’s passionate/cares about. Mithian is highly selective with her friendships, though her clear desire to connect with those she does trust shows an inner vulnerability that she works constantly to cover up. Mithian has been known to have a hard time dealing with the emotional baggage of some situations, especially those where people she cares about are placed at risk though can equally display an indifferent attitude toward situations were others are placed in danger. However it should be noted that since Kazuma’s return to her life, she had found herself suddenly in a place of confliction between the person she used to be and the person she has become. On one side Mithian had fallen in love with a lie, devoted to Ethan who saw her as something to possess, his dark influence ever present over her, while on the other Kazuma threatens to break through the walls which have built up around her, bringing her truth and sincerity. 

   Mithian is quite tall, standing at nearly six feet, and has olive toned skin, olive green-hazel eyes, and long, dark brown hair. She has fine cheekbones and full lips, which are shade of pale pink. She is a sophomore at Dalcrest Academy working toward a major in Mechanical Engineering and minor in European History. She is also a freelance photographer for the Dalcrest Harold and and is the President of the Vitale Society. She appears to have become a rival of an older Bruce Wayne, unaware of her step-father’s role in his parents deaths. Mithian is also the last remaining Pope descendant and expected to become the future head of Zharkov International in the future. She has an affinity for Animal Empathy and her element is fire.  Which path she will ultimately choose, the darkness or the light, is yet unknown.

     The son of a Moroi— later turned Strigoi, Klaus, and a former Guardian, Gabriella Rodriguez, Cristian is a nineteen year old Dhampir teen living in the small town of Fell’s Church, Virginia. He was born June 6, 1992 though after his return his birthday is traditionally celebrated a week earlier along with his twin sister Meredith's (May 30th). When Cristian and Meredith were three years old their father, Klaus, having turned Stirgoi attacked their family home killing their grandmother and kidnapping Cristian, though he had intended to kidnap both children in order to turn them into Strigoi when they were older. Raised away from his family that resided in Fell’s Church, Cristian was believed to be dead by all those in town. Following the attack, Cristian found himself being brought up by a complete strangers, Klaus having kept him isolated from the outer world. At first, he did not understand why he couldn’t see his mother, his sister and questioned Klaus multiple times about it. Most of the times, if not ignored, Cristian would be forced to hear Klaus’ raw, evil responses – which made Cristian hold back and eventually stop asking for them at all. The constant watch of the evil events performed by the Strigoi, including the killing of many of those whom cared for Cristian, was the reason Cristian held onto the memory of his family very closely. As he grew, the memories began to slowly fade, and that was when he grew a deep hatred for Strigoi.

     In terms of personality, Cristian is incredibly impulsive and has a sense of coldness, although is completely aware of his own actions and their consequences. He is normally suspicious about everything that surrounds him and likes to keep up with current events. When required, Cristian does not hold back his sarcasm and makes sure it is understood. Holding random conversations are something he doesn’t typically partake in, mostly due the traumatic events of his childhood and underlying trust issues; nevertheless it is something he can easily carry without any difficulties if need be. His concept of a paternal figure was completely wrecked with Klaus’ anger outbursts, therefore he had nothing to rely on but himself – and the fewer memories that still played in constant replay in his mind. Despite the fact he does have a family, Cristian does not recall what it’s like to be with in a typical family environment or to feel that bond, however that rule is broken when it comes to his twin sister, Meredith; who he anxiously wants to see again.

     As he grew up, Cristian became more aware of what was happening around him and was the victim of compulsion whenever Klaus decided he had collected too much information. His mind was constantly taking a step forward, and two backwards. At the age of thirteen, he began to put the pieces together by himself and in order to keep him under control, Klaus would threaten him with his own family – and again the boy began to realize that he, more then anyone else, knew Klaus strength's and weaknesses. Only this time, he remained quiet. In order to keep the boy in his ‘hands’, Klaus often taunted him with pictures of his family – a mind game in which Cristian couldn’t help but hold back. Alone, he was aware that he could never take Klaus down by himself and began biding his time before he could plan an escape.  At the age of nineteen and aware of what the near future reserved, Cristian strategically planned an escape. Slipping through Klaus’ fingers after sixteen years of psychological terrorism and being held in secret from the world. Having Meredith tracked down through the information Klaus provided him unconsciously, he managed to reach out to his family in Fell's Church. Surprisingly, for a time, nothing had happened, neither had he seen Klaus, or anything had happened to his family as Klaus had promised – yet.

     Finally free and near his family, Cristian adapted the last name of his step-father and tried to retake his normal life, a life prior to the attack– but the illusion was soon shattered, the reunion becoming bittersweet when Klaus returned to the family home killing the twin's mother and step-father in front of them. It would be the price of Cristian's freedom, Klaus, in part only allowing the twins to live as they were part of a greater plan. Attempting to find some kind of normalcy in a less then normal life, Cristian enrolled in Dalcrest Academy with the help of his sister however, trouble would always fit as Cristian’s middle name.

BIOGRAPHY:

Sydney is the eldest child of the alchemist Sage family - a curse that she was unknowingly born with. From the time when she could develop her own vocabulary, emotions or personality, her father took it upon himself to mould her into a future version of himself. Today, she is a calculated, intelligent and promising young alchemist.

From the moment her father started training her and Sydney realized what a ruthless parent, teacher and alchemist he was, she took the responsibility of bearing the burden and blame for her sisters. Even if she doesn’t show it, one of the reasons Sydney is such a good alchemist is simply so that her sisters don’t have to be. When she was younger, she was always the one piping up to help him so that he wouldn’t have to ask Carly or Zoe. As she grew older, she was the one who was sent on assignments the earliest.

When Sydney was fourteen years old. she accidentally found out from her maternal granparents’ libraries that she and her sisters were born into magical bloodlines - meaning, they all had the dormant potential to pursue magic, should they wish to. Appalled and disgusted, she promised herself to never tell anyone - not even her father. She couldn’t bear the idea of their family falling apart. She refused to tell him unless she ever saw her mother practice magic, which she was sure she didn’t. Instead, in an effort to “redeem” herself for her “sinful” blood, she threw herself into her training. 

Eventually, the amount of time she volunteered to be around the alchemists led to her being heavily influenced by their doctrines. Without even realizing it, she’s turned into an “ethical”, unyielding and “morally” strict worker amidst their ranks. So strict is she that she’s had alchemists sent to re-education in the past, a decision that she does not regret in the least - and she’d do it again.

Her workaholic attitude, over the years, has led to an alienation from her sisters. But Sydney works too hard to even really notice. As far as she’s concerned, she wants to take on the name of the next Sage Alchemist - to prove to herself that she can take such a responsibility. In fact, she’s even agreed to be engaged to Keith Darnell - not knowing the history with him and Carly.

Another reason she chooses not to associate too closely with Zoe and Carly is because the former is too open minded and the latter has completely abandoned the Alchemists ways. In a way, she resents Carly for getting freedom; she treats Zoe as a colleague so that she doesn’t let her emotions get in the way of objective decision making. But that doesn’t change the fact that she loves her sisters and misses them dearly.

Biography

      The vampire-angel (dhampir) daughter of a Moroi (Swartzschild) and a Principle Guardian named Elizabeth Morrow, Katherine was in a dangerous love triangle with Moroi brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore. Born in Germany, Katherine, unlike many dhampirs, was raised by her Moroi father rather then her mother, whom faked her death and journeyed to the states. Often doted on by her father, Katherine, was a sweet, docile, naive, and an emotionally vulnerable girl but also a little bit on the selfish, spoiled, childish and immature side. Katherine and her father later moved to Italy where after visiting the Salvatore estate it was said that Katherine was so beautiful that both Salvatore brothers were infatuated with her beauty and elegance that could rival a Moroi, when they first came to know her. All three also attended the Italian Medici Academy where Katherine trained to become a Guardian and desired be a Guardian for the Salvatore family. 

Over the course of their teenage years, Katherine entered into a relationship with Stefan Salvatore, however, she also later entered into a physical relationship with his brother Damon Salvatore. Unable to choose between her love for both, both brothers began to work for her attention uncaring of the consequences of a Moroi getting involved in a serious relationship with a dhampir. It appears that Katherine was unable to understand shadow emotions and the darker side of life and as such, she failed to grasp the deep roots of the conflict between Stefan and Damon. She displayed her immaturity and childishness by refusing to choose between the two Salvatore brothers and after the two came to blows after truths were realized, believed through her death, in the process of protecting the brothers during a Strigoi attack, would resolve their difficulties and their rivalry with each other. However, rather then be killed during the attack, Katherine was forcibly turned into a Strigoi by Klaus and later declared her desire to turn both brothers so they could be together forever.

As a Strigoi Katherine had become the complete and total opposite of her old self—evil, crazy, barbaric, inhumane, vicious, cold-blooded, cold-hearted, wicked, murderous, vengeful, jealous, manipulative, malicious and hungry for power and revenge. She boasted about killing tons of both humans and Moroi displaying her psychopathic and murderous ways, and she had become fiercely hungry for power and revenge when she learned that Stefan and Damon had traveled to Fell's Church and fallen in love with Elena Gilbert. She appeared intensely jealous of Elena and expressed hatred of both Damon and especially Stefan, for daring to pursue another woman. Causing death and destruction in the small town, Katherine and Klaus launched an attack against the high school after Stefan proposed to Elena. However, in this same battle Katherine was killed by Elena Gilbert, though she was also able to kill her attacker in the process.
